Bought a Vacant Land home in 2014 for approximately $625K in Washougal, WA.
Wishing to buy/build my 'retirement' house in the Vancouver/southern WA region, Marjie came highly recommended from a colleague as "THE" Real Estate broker you WANT to work with! Travelling for a living, my time searching for a home/lot was extremely limited as I would pass through the local area. MARJIE was ALWAYS very well prepared for my visit(s) and was very well organized to maximize the most amount of properties seen in the least amount of time. In the end, after working with Marjie for over 4 months (looking for that 'perfect' property), I ended up purchasing a LOT in Washougal on Lookout Ridge and using local builder; Marjie helped greatly to proliferate the build AND the DEAL! Most impressive, however, was a statement she made many times along the way, "....I'm not here to sell you a house, I am here to help you find a HOME and BE HAPPY!" There was NEVER any pressure to purchase any home or lot, she totally allowed ME to decide exactly what I wanted, and only THEN, did she help close the deal! My custom home took 6 mos to build, and Marjie was there EVERY STEP ALONG THE WAY through closing and BEYOND. There aren't words to describe how completely HAPPY and SATISFIED I am with Marjie's services as my agent!
We were looking at properties in Vancouver, because our daughter
has moved there and is a nurse at one of the local hospitals.
Marjie showed us for two days - gave us lot of info and saw quite
a few properties. Although, we didn't buy anything this trip - have
to get my husband and I on the same page for moving. Would
definitely use her if our plans become more permanent.
I have been an Associate Broker - so have more knowledge of the
selling real estate business. She is good!
This was my fifth property transaction but first out of state transaction and Marjie was extremely helpful and responsive. We were able to put an offer on a property without having to see it in person based on Marjie's excellent description, walk through and video.
She was honest in representing herself and any properties and routinely advised us on the correct course of action for us, regardless of the incentives to do something else. We are very happy with our purchase and with Marjie and we would recommend her to anyone looking for real estate in the Portland metro area.
Margie is amazing. even on vacation she came through for me. She is one person that I've met that comes through before deadlines and has utmost professionalism and stands by her word. She may be professional but she also gives you that personal touch letting you know that she really cares about you and your situation. if you're going to take a chance on a realtor that you've never met I highly, highly, suggest you go with Margie as you won't be disappointed!

She seemed great at first, but eventually just stopped putting any effort into selling our home. It was absurd. She would take 5-7 days to respond to repeated attempts to contact her and failed to even minimally advertise open houses, not even having the open house listed on Zillow before the open house started. Our home never sold despite her having it on the market for 7 months. Other very similar homes in our neighborhood (build by the same builder around the same time) sold in 1 to 3 months. When our contract was up with Marjie, a realtor who sold another home in my neighborhood contacted us and told us that he had a potential buyer for our home, but he had tried to contact Marjie and Jake (her assistant) 5 times, but they had never responded. He also told me that he would be able to sell our house easily, just as he had with the other house a few houses down the street that is very similar.
She just started her own business (leaving the realtor she was employed by when we started our contract with her) and that may have had something to do with the terrible responsiveness, and lack of interest in selling our home. In addition, I think she is just much more familiar with Clark county, rather than Multnomah and Washington counties. She would likely be decent as a buyer's agent in Clark county, but I would not trust her to sell a house, especially in Oregon.

I am sorry that your home did not sell and you feel the way you do. I am pleased that almost all of our listings sell - usually my clients are very happy with my careful marketing, excellent photos, video tour, appealing listing descriptions, home books, full color flyers, catered brokers’ & regular open houses, multiple showings & contentious responses to every inquiry. Contrary to what you were told, I properly returned all calls, texts, emails & honored every request to see your home, with your cooperation. I am grateful for the overwhelming support of hundreds of satisfied customers. I hope that you sell when market conditions improve, but some factors may require you to reduce your price: 1) All four recent sales were much lower priced than yours. 2) School test scores declined significantly after you bought your home. 3) Your small newer subdivision is surrounded by a larger area of older, lower quality homes. 4) No comparable home in your area sold for the price you were asking.

Marjie is simply the best. She is incredibly knowledgeable of the area, the market, and the comps that are necessary for a buyer to make a decision as to whether to make an offer and what that offer should be. She listens to you as to what you're looking for and direction to those homes that meet your criteria. She does not try to oversell you a home. You give her a budget, she stays within it. She is the only real estate agent / broker we would use in the Vancouver area
I contacted Marjie on short notice for a community tour of the Vancouver, WA area to help decide if would be a place we would like to relocate to. She was very responsive via both email and phone. We ended up with an extensive tour of the area, where we saw numerous properties as she explained the pros and cons of the different neighborhoods and the properties as well. She certainly knows the area well.

When we started the house buying process we were given some names of agents from our bank. When we looked up their creditenials, we weren't confident that they were the right fit to help us find our perfect home. My husband searched zillow instead and found Marjie. She was very laid back and put up with my insistent questions. She was super knowledgeable in all areas, and was able to provide further readings or pamphlets for questions. She was able to look around the house and tell us if something needed work and an estimate of how much that thing might cost. She was available by email or text, and always responded same day to either make appointments for showings or answer the questions I had. When there was a concern about where we got our loan, she jumped right in with another person/company that could get us what we needed. She made this process less stressful for me and we can't wait to recommend her to anyone we know who wants to buy or sell a house.
