Team DeeCor consists of two agents, Corey Kawai and Denise Miyahira of Island Realtors. Corey and Denise both attended the same high school on Oahu, Iolani School and have been working at Island Realtors since the company's inception.

Corey has a bachelor's degree in Business Marketing from University of Hawaii and Denise has a bachelor's degree in Personnel Industrial Relations from Syracuse University.

Corey has over 12 years of management experience in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, Corey was also a successful co-owner of Waimanalo Laundry Services. Denise worked as a human resource assistant at Title Guaranty, career counselor for Aiea H.S. & Waipahu H.S. and at Hawaiian Airlines.  Denise also obtained her private pilot's license.

Team DeeCor has worked with Wells Fargo as one of their premier listing agents for foreclosures on the island of Oahu.  Corey and Denise received their broker's license in 2010 and have been nominated every year for the Aloha Aina People's Choice award since 2006 and were both listed as one of Honolulu Magazine's 2013 Best in Real Estate Top Agents. Denise was awarded the Aloha Aina People's Choice award in 2011.

Corey and Denise have obtained their Certified Residential Specialists (CRS) Designation which is only awarded to the top 4% of realtors nationwide who have achieved a level of production and education. Denise is the Hawaii Aloha Chapter President of CRS for 2013.

Bought a home in 2008 in Makiki-Lower Punchbowl-Tantalus, Honolulu, HI 96822.

Corey has been my Realtor for the last seven years. I've gone through multiple transactions with him. I know he's really busy, but he never makes you feel that way, he always made me feel like my transaction was the only thing he was working on. He gets back to you super quick. And he's super on it. He's honest and straight forward. He'll tell you straight up about the ease or complexity of the situation. He doesn't sugar coats things or is a 'yes' man. That's one thing I like about him. He is really good at managing your expectations so that there aren't any surprises. I always refer him to my friends that are looking to buy or sell. One last thing, he has good relationships with many many lenders, which is totally necessary these days since its hard to get credit from the banks...always good to shop your loan.  More Less

Sold a home in 2012.

From the moment my husband and I met with Corey Kawai to inquire about listing our condo to the final closing of our sale, Corey exceeded our expectations. At the initial listing meeting with Corey, I explained to him that the sale of our condo would be an emotional one. My husband and I had poured hours of planning, sweat and tears into the condo's renovation and I wanted the future purchaser to love it as much as we did. As a first time seller, I was unfamiliar with the selling process, but Corey took the time to explicitly explain the step-by-step details and reassured us (especially me!) that he would walk this journey with us side-by-side. Prior to the Open House, Corey took the time to prepare our condo so that it would attract numerous potential buyers. The listing flyer, photos, cleaning and staging of the condo was impressive! It was obvious that Corey had spent numerous hours on preparations and was completely invested in selling our unit. Corey's hard work had paid off as we accepted a full-priced offer two days after the Open House. We were ecstatic! The Escrow process ran smoothly and if there were any snags along the way, Corey was quick to communicate with us and was very solution based. His experience, knowledge and diligence was evident and played key roles in the success of this sale.  More Less
