I would think that people would flock to this site to talk about the neighborhood.  There doesn not seem to be a lot going on in here. :)

Fasinating discussion.  I answer questions and cosnumer inquiries for free, I also give free price opinioms and show buyers who don't buy houses for free.  All part of my job.  I have not found that by sharing my knowledge I am cutting my income.  I am finding that instead I am building credability.  I do have tpo proove that I know what I am doing if I expect someone to sork with me and pay my comission.  I don't know any other way to proove myself than to answer consumer questions.  I don't answer them on public forums.  I let the buyers and sellers come to me so that I know who they are.  i don't answer questions asked by anyone who does not give me their real name either.  In a couple of cases they don't use their real names but I do have a real email adress and that is good enough for me.I think it is the old guard in our industry who see us as gate keepers of information.  In the information age the idea is to have a free flow of information.  The consumer demands it and does not have time for agents who are gate keepers.
