Is Your Home Under Water? What to Do?
First find a Realtor with experience selling Short Sale listings. Your Realtor should recommend up-front that you speak with a real estate attorney that can advise you about all of your options - foreclosure, short sale, deed in lieu, bankruptcy. I also recommend that my clients speak with a CPA that knows the latest laws regarding the tax implications of all of these options. Every one of my clients that had a meeting with an attorney felt much better about their decisions, as if a weight has been lifted from their shoulders. Most of our sellers are currently selliing short but know that by doing so, they are saving their credit scores in the long run.

Is Your Home Home Under Water? What to do?
First find a Realtor with experience in the Short Sale process. Your Realtor should up front recommend that you speak to a Real Estate Attorney that will talk to you about all of your options. We also recommend to our clients that they speak to a qualified CPA as the tax laws have recently changed. Every one of my clients who have had a meeting with an attorney has felt better about their decisions - whichever way they go. Most of our sellers are currently Short Selling their homes to prevent a foreclosure and thereby helping their credit scores in the long run.
