This is a great question and it's a common question from our sellers. We find that in the summer it can actually be a disadvantage for sellers when you see a huge inventory come up on the market. Sometimes it's a good idea to beat the summer rush and put your property on the market sooner. We sell a ton of vacation properties for our clients. Some of our clients use vacation rental agency and others do the rental themselves.One advantage to using an agency is you have peace of mind, but they will take anywhere from 30-40% off your profit. One agency in mind is Lake Tahoe Accommodations ask for Josh Priou. He's great and he'll be able to give you rental ability figures.If you do the rental yourself you will keep all your profit, but you will have to handle all the rentals and have someone to oversee it.Since your property is located in Al Tahoe you should get good rentals as it is in close proximity to Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Ski Resort, and the casinos. The foreclosure market has been fading away since last year as most of the distressed properties have been sold. The real estate market in general has recovered especially in our South Lake Tahoe market. Although, with the low inventory we've seen listings are selling faster and buyers are paying almost 10% more sometimes.Good luck, Brandon and Grace Yee
We sell a lot of real estate in South Lake Tahoe and we find that it all depends on the desirability of your property such as location. If you're in a hot market area you should be able to sell fast since our inventory is very low.
