Ratings & Reviews

I assisted a friend with buying a home in the Mount Helix area of San Diego. We first contacted Toan on a simple internet search for buyer's agents. His professional and in-depth profile was impressive, and really stood out. After speaking with several other agents, we chose to go with Toan based on his positive personality, extensive knowledge of the area, and prompt correspondence. Buying a home for the first time, the top priority was finding an agent who would be very thorough, patient, and informative during the whole process. Toan really met and exceeded those expectations. He made us feel very comfortable during the search for a home, and when it came time to purchase. His communication skills are one of his best attributes. If you have purchased a home, you know that attention to emails and phone calls really do matter when there is a lot on the line, and Toan was always there to quickly answer questions and concerns promptly. Now that the purchase is complete, I am very happy we decided to go with him as our agent, and would certainly recommend him to others. Thanks Toan!

We connected, but it did not work out. Looking in San Diego, CA

On August 15, 2012 Toan made an appointment for my wife and I to go visit some houses and the surrounding area in San Diego the next day, August 16th. We live in Visalia (which is about 260 miles away from San Diego) so we both took a day off of work for this trip to meet up with Toan. We agreed to meet at 1:30 PM. At about 11:00 AM my wife and I arrived in San Diego so we gave Toan a call to let him know we were early but we were still going to keep our appointment at 1:30 PM. Toan sent us a text message confirming that he would see us at 1:30 PM. At 1:30 PM we gave Toan a call to see where he was and he said he would be late by an hour! So we waited for him and at 2:45 PM we called him again but he didn’t answer his phone. We were getting very frustrated at this point, not knowing what was going on with Toan and not being able to contact him. So, after wasting an entire day and getting nothing done, we decided to go home. While we were driving back home, his mom gave us a call to apologize to us about her son’s poor work ethic (I don’t even know his mom). Later that night, when we were already home, Toan sent me an email apologizing for what happened and he offered to make amends with me by sending me a $150 gas card if I provided him my address. So I emailed him my address, expecting him to keep his word but to this day I still have not received anything from him and I have not heard a single word from him. Its not that I need the $150 gas card badly, I just think that an honest person should keep their word. Toan was not able to keep our appointment like he had promised and he has not sent me the gas card that he promised. I don’t see how anyone would trust him with such a major decision as buying a house, he treats this as a joke. I would recommend you to stay away from Toan if you are serious about buying a house.

Bought a home in 2012 in Camp Pendleton South, Oceanside, CA 92058.

I would like to offer my general opinion of Mr. Nguyen as it pertains to my wife and I during the purchase process of our particular Oceanside property. To begin, Mr. Nguyen is very professional, very knowledgeable, and certainly more than competent in his capacity as a property agent. In fact, in my years of experience on the consumer side of real estate business, I can honestly say Keller Williams has a real valuable asset in this person. He went above and beyond our expectations and his obligations on numerous occasions during all phases of the purchase and escrow process. Beyond that, he has been instrumental in helping us find people to accomplish improvements to this same property long after his obligation as our agent.

In short, Mr. Nguyen is an asset to the Keller Williams agency, an impeccable resource for clients in every regard and conducts all of his business with the utmost honesty and integrity. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him and hope to again in the near future.

Thank you for your attention... Bruce Helton and Jo G.

Bought a home in 2012 in Casa De Oro-Mount Helix, La Mesa, CA 91941.

Toan was very responsive to our needs as this was a first home purchase for our son. There were some frustrating moments during the escrow period on our part but he was able to hold everything together. His referrals for various inspections during the escrow process were timely which helped to facilitate a short escrow period. Toan is a tireless worker as he was able to work around our schedule to complete the purchase process. We would highly recommend Toan to anyone looking to purchase or sell property.

Showed home in 2012 in Bay Terraces, San Diego, CA 92114.

If you're looking for an agent that will go over and beyond, and has the knowledge and skills of today's market - Toan is the agent you are looking for. He works very hard to get his client's what they want - and is very upfront and honest. He is very experienced and is competent in structural details of homes (definitely gives you an upper hand having him on your side).

When we first contacted Toan, we wanted to see a home right away. He was in Oceanside that morning, and met us in central San Diego that evening - with lots of time to look at the home we had seen on a listing. He doesn't waste time.

He has a mobile office (literally) in his car, which cuts out a lot of time, especially if you need to get documents signed to put in offers on homes. He prints it out then and there - and you sign it! Simple, easy, efficient!

Throughout our experience, we were always able to depend on Toan to follow through with his commitments. We highly recommend Toan as one of San Diego's great real estate agents!

Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $175K in National City, CA.

Our Keller-Williams agent, Toan Nguyen, was extremely helpful and patient with us during our home purchase process. Because he holds a C-36 plumbing contractors’ license, Toan was able to tell us a wealth of information regarding the construction and plumbing of all the homes we saw. He was keen at understanding us and our needs, even when we didn’t say explicitly what we were looking for, and he had a great instinct to pick up on the details in a home that were important to us. Because of Toan, we found our new home. We had been searching for a few months, and all the while Toan was incredibly patient. Each home he saw he considered whether it was right for us, and we developed a very trusting relationship with him during our home purchase process. He was working with us and another party that was funding the transaction, and this created a few additional issues during the home search and offer-writing process. However, he went above and beyond to help us write offers, and eventually get one accepted. One morning, he saw a listing for a home that he believed would suit our needs, so he went out to preview it. When he found it fit all our needs perfectly, he called us immediately, while at the same time communicating to the seller’s agent that we would be the ideal purchasers. In escrow, we encountered additional obstacles, and Toan walked us and the other people involved through resolving all the problems that arose during this last phase of the home purchase process. The seller’s choice of escrow company, the lack of information provided to the sellers, and delays of the listing agent to act on our offer all presented themselves – but none of them tripped Toan up. He coached the listing agent, involved their broker to secure resolution of the situation, ensured that the purchase and sell agreement was upheld, and in the end we happily closed on the property. We are so thrilled to have developed a great friendship with our realtor!

Bought a home in 2012 in Oceana, Oceanside, CA 92057.

Upon our entering the market in search for a home, we contacted two selling agents, one of which was Toan. It was immediately clear that Toan was our choice. Toan was surprisingly proactive. He immediately began educating us on all things real estate, from the lingo (contingent vs pending, mello roos, etc) to the process, to what red flags to avoid.

In an industry that I believe is slow, archaic, and in desperate need of reinventing (think of what the internet did to the news industry), Toan is incredibly cutting edge and high energy, just perfect for any buyer that wants to be well-informed, fast acting, and in control. Somehow I always felt like we were his only client because he was so incredibly helpful, yet I knew he was delivering the same level of dedication to all his clients, buyers or sellers.

I whole-heartedly endorse Toan. Anyone lucky enough to get him on your side will have a great real-estate experience.

Bought a home in 2012 in Rancho Calevero Mobile Home Park, Oceanside, CA 92056.

Toan puts his clients first making them feel as if their satisfaction is his top priority. We dreamed of owning a home in North County, San Diego, CA, for many years, but had very little luck on our own. Finally, we called Toan Nguyen regarding a listing and left a message requesting a return call. Toan called us shortly thereafter and the quest began. Early the next morning, Toan met us with a list of several properties that met the standards and requirements discussed only a day earlier. As we visited each home, Toan noted what we did and did not like about different homes as we walked through. Before leaving each home, Toan asked both my husband and me to share our specific likes and dislikes adjusting prospective homes accordingly.

The home that we finally chose, our home, was a short sale that satisfied all of our needs. Toan went to great lengths to explain the meaning of "short sale." As Toan drafted bids, proposals, and contracts,he led us through each step of the short sale process with alacrity. Toan was an excellent advocate as he interfaced with other agents, current homeowners, and lending institutions. Toan Nguyen was a true professional in both appearance and action as he closed the deal making our dream a reality. I would highly recommend Toan Nguyen and would seek him out for any future real estate endeavors. Toan Nguyen is always in time and on time and we thank him for it.

Bought a home in 2012 in Camp Pendleton South, Oceanside, CA 92058.

With dueling laptops, my Hubby and I began our out of state relocation home search. He called 2 agents and I called Toan Nguyen. Toan was the highlighted agent on the listing I viewed. He responded quickly, within 15 minutes, letting me know that he received my call. He was in the middled of something but would call me back at a designated time. My Hubby’s agents returned his call soon after but not nearly as quick as Toan.

Toan called at the designated time but I forgot our time difference and missed his call. My fault completely. When we did connect we spoke in depth (for approx. 45 minutes) regarding our needs, wants, price point, time line and interested neighborhoods. It was like an interview. We were building a relationship. I was impressed with his technique right off the bat. It was just like I would have done, so one could return the next point of contact with as much related info as possible. My Hubby’s 2 agents only spoke with him for several minutes.

Toan set me up with an auto email notification with our specs. My Hubby’s agents also set up auto listing. I was excited to see the first email with all the listings that fit my parameters. Hubby’s received his auto emails, but the listings did not fit much of our needs and/or wants. Guess who we chose to represent us? Yep, Toan!

In this economy with all the changes in the banking and real estate system, purchasing or selling a home seems quite daunting. Takes a knowledgeable agent that understands the business and the area. I was impressed on how quickly we prepared utilizing many forms of media (phone, text, email) to prep for my first visit to Oceanside to get as much viewed and done during my short visit.

Our first meeting, I found Toan to be professional and personable. Our personalities meshed well. On our home tour, Toan was perceptive and quickly picked up on my comments and my reactions to likes and dislikes. He processed that info to fine tune prospective listings to view so not to waste time and effort. Very efficient.

Toan has a strong background in plumbing and construction. I appreciated his ability to identify details that would be easily missed or not even acknowledged by other agents. I was confident that I was working with an agent of character and honesty, with a broad knowledge base.

With Toan’s exceptional assistance I was able to find a couple homes that closely fits my needs and wants. We proceeded with processing pre-quals with his responsive and competent team. Toan worked with me to understand and clarify the process each step of the way. He has a creative thought process and utilizes his own brand of negotiation skills. I trust that Toan has my best interests at heart.

Although at this point neither home has worked out as planned, by no fault of Toan. Since our first meeting we have updated our parameters which I am sure put a wrench in the process. My Hubby and I believe we will find the home that fits our needs and wants as we continue to work closely with Toan.

Toan’s honesty, patience, kindness, concern, motivation, determination and strong work ethics paired with his broad base of knowledge makes him the agent we want to work with and highly recommend to others for a positive experience and success.

I happened to be referred to Toan through a web ad, and immediately noticed the difference. He not only has excellent knowledge in real estate purchasing and selling, but also works very hard around the clock with instant response/update, and his negotiation skill is rare to find. He listens well to know exactly what you want, and gives excellent advice. I highly recommend Toan if you are looking to buy a home, or just seeking advice in real estate.
