Bought a home in 2013.
This is the first home my wife and I purchased and I had no idea where to start. I first let my wife take care of it. The realtor she was referred to, we just didn’t click with. So by dumb luck we came across Tom “the guy with the advertisement at the movie theatre”, my daughter said. After my first conversation with Tom I realized this is how a realtor should behave. He asked the right questions and sounded eager to help me. We were in somewhat of a deadline due to the fact that my wife and I are expecting our little baby girl in a month. Tom was aware of it and was up for the challenge. Again, I knew nothing about purchasing a home prior to this. To get my loan I went to two banks. Everything sounded good so I went with the one with the better interest rate. After speaking with Tom about it, he referred me to someone that gave me a better rate and also helped me with the closing costs!
Due to the lack of inventory of homes in Dixon, we had difficulties getting our offer accepted. On our third offer, Tom used his creativity to make our offer look more appealing. It worked like a charm! There were multiple offers and our offer was accepted! We ended up going with a short-sale purchase. He informed my wife and I the process of a short-sale and how it could take some time. Even though it did take time to finally get our home, Tom kept us posted throughout the whole process. Tom was always available and was willing to answer any questions we had for him. It felt as if he was available any time of the day. When we (my wife :)) lost hope in the short-sale, Tom reassured us that we would be home owners soon. Although the short-sale process was dreadful, Tom was able to get us in our home and he made the process bearable.
I will continue to recommend Tom to anyone in need of a realtor. I can’t thank him enough for his hard work and dedication to helping us find our very first home. Not only is he a good person, he has become a good friend to my wife, daughter and myself! Thanks to Tom my family and I will live in a great neighborhood where we can raise our children for the years to come. Thanks Tom!!!…More Less

My husband and I had been looking for a home for 7 months prior to being referred to Tom. This being our first time purchasing a home, we didn’t know what to expect of a realtor. After meeting Tom, we realized how cheated we had been in the past working with a realtor who wasn’t very proactive or helpful. Tom immediately took us under his wing and was determined to find us the perfect home for our growing family. Within a couple months we were successful in finding a home that was perfect for our needs. Aside from his impeccable knowledge of the industry, Tom also connected with us on a personal level. My husband and I were so taken back with his professionalism and genuine concern for the safety of our family as well as staying within our budget. He was NEVER pushy - in fact every time we looked at a home he was sure to point out any problems that we may have overlooked. We felt like he was really there to HELP US, not just make a paycheck like we had felt with our previous agent.
After only looking at a few homes, we found one we absolutely LOVED. We immediately went back to the office, he wrote up an offer and within a few days it had been accepted. We have been in it about six months now, and we are still VERY grateful for the help and wisdom Tom gave us. I recommend him to EVERYONE looking to buy a home in the area. He just can't be beat!
