Bought a Condo home in 2014 in Wrightwood Neighbors, Chicago, IL.
Laura was the perfect agent for us. We were not sure what we wanted, and it took a lot of looking, talking, negotiating ... and Laura was very patient with us. She helped us when we first moved to Chicago to find a rental, and when we were ready to stay she helped us find the right home. She really took the time to understand us and to help us with the big decision - and we are thrilled with the outcome.

Bought a Condo home in 2008 in Ravenswood, Chicago, IL.
Laura and her team are absolutely wonderful to work with! Laura helped me look for and purchase a condo in Lincoln Square in 2008 and I have been happy in my home ever since!

Laura really took the time to listen to what I was looking for which ultimately made the process so much easier and such a great success. She is always quick to respond to any communication, she is flexible with her schedule, and she is just a pleasure to be around! She is so knowledgeable and has great insight. I was in such capable hands from the very beginning steps all the way to my closing. Laura can also give you great referrals too if you need them - I loved both the attorney and the home inspector that she recommended.

Other reviews mention how Laura makes you feel like you're her only client and I definitely agree, she is completely attentive and works hard for you. I couldn't have had a better experience buying my first Chicago home. Thanks, Laura!!

Bought a Townhouse home in 2012 for approximately $450K in Lathrop Homes, Chicago, IL.
My wife and I worked with Laura in 2012 in Lincoln Park/Lakeview as first time homebuyers. I originally chose Laura because of her certifications, her website/web presence and because her listings were in the range that we were looking to pay. Even though she had listings up to 3-4 times our budget (we were on the medium to low end of her range) I always felt like were 1st on her list. Overall I thought that Laura was really flexible during the buying process. She was more than willing to provide us listings, take us to listings we found and most importantly worked around our schedule for viewings. Laura was always looking to move the process along, but I never felt pressured or rushed to put in an offer or look at a property I wasn't interested in.

Laura lived in the area that we were looking and had a great understanding of neighborhood, it's schools, parking, it's boundaries and property taxes. The property taxes can get crazy when it comes to how your condo association/parking spot/unit are zoned, and this was something I had zero experience with. I was also unfamiliar with what you "own" and what is "owned" by the association in a condo, which Laura had a great understanding of (and can be different by development). Many of the units we looked at we wouldn't have "owned" our own windows or many other parts of the physical structure in the unit we were purchasing. In those cases we would have been fined for any damage to a window, whereas, the unit we ended up buying was fee simple, so we would have to buy a whole new window for that unit, but we could replace the windows when it made financial sense for us too (so we wouldn't' be stuck with old windows until the condo board deemed replacing them necessary). She had an understanding of parking, which I had some experience with myself and is something that you must ask about with every property! For instance the 1800 block of N Halsted is unzoned with no parking meters, therefore it's address is specifically listed as "buffer" for parking passes by the city (so you can't buy a 143 sticker without a letter from the aldermen), but the 2000 N block of Halsted is different because it's metered.

We were first time homebuyers and she was happy to go through the parts of the purchasing process we were unfamiliar with. Originally we thought FHA might be the way to go, but after talking with her it was obvious that a 5% down or a 10% down, 10% equity, 80% loan would be the best way to go (because of the requirements of FHA). At the time I was unaware that banks were starting to make those loans again (now even Jumbos are making a comeback). We were also unfamiliar the the different break points as part of our offer or how earnest money worked. Overall our homebuying process was a great experience.

Helped me rent a home.
Laura did an excellent job in helping us see a multitude of listings in what was not a very long period of time, given we had a tighter viewing schedule. She was very adept at assisting us to keep track of all that we had seen and what we liked and didn't about all of the properties we saw, as we were from out-of-town and had limited knowledge of the Downtown communities and the areas we were traveling.

Helped me rent a home.
We've done a lot of real estate transactions over the last few years, and Laura Topp is by far, the best, most professional and efficient agent we've ever used. We were unbelievably impressed by her knowledge of the units and buildings, the area, and the process by which we had to hurry an application along. She was professional at all times, prompt returning our calls, and completely organized throughout our process. I would recommend her above any one else we've used, and look forward to another transaction with her soon.

Bought a Condo home in 2012 for approximately $325K in Lake View, Chicago, IL.
Laura was just the agent I was looking for. I was in the market to purchase my 1st home and she did an amazing job at finding what I was interested in, price, and location. All the questions I had regarding real estate she had the answer to and was extremely responsive via email/text/phone. We looked at as many homes as I needed to and when we found the right one; her negotiating skills were right in line with what I was comfortable with and thought. I will definitely use Laura's services as I outgrow my condo in the future and will keep her in mind otherwise as a knowledgeable source of real estate information. I have now lived in the condo that "we" picked out for 5 months now, and couldn't be happier. Thanks Laura!!!

Sold a home in 2012.
Laura was great in the sale of our home. It was not an easy year to be selling but we managed with Laura's help and expertise to get it done. She has a knack for knowing the right time to suggest changes, and she is very good and fun to work with. We met Laura while searching for a place in 2007 and did not buy anything but she kept in touch and we used her in 4 transactions since then (sale and buy in the city in 2008, sale in the city and buy in Northbrook in 2012).

Bought a home in 2013.
We highly recommend Laura. While preparing for a wedding, we were looking for a house that fit our budget, yet accommodated a future family. Given the shortage of time, Laura made the process easy. She is very responsive, she listens, and she flat-out hustles. While we love our new home, we will seek her out next time we look to upgrade.

Sold a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $800K in West Town, Chicago, IL.
Laura Topp and her team have provided the best-selling and purchasing experience for us on several occasions. She is highly professional and provides excellent knowledge of the market, along with the realistic list/sell prices and the competition. When preparing your home for sale she provides great prepping/staging recommendations. In addition, she provides the best marketing of your home comprehensively through multiple media/internet sources. On the purchasing side Laura also does an excellent job locating properties, providing competitive properties, and negotiating the entire process. Lastly, they are always available for questions or concerns, no matter how small. I would highly recommend Laura Topp and her team, they are the best!

Laura did a great job helping us find and buy our first home! Throughout the process, it was very clear that she understood exactly what we were looking for and showed us several houses that we were interested in. Laura was extermely helpful from our first meeting through our closing! As first time home buyers, we had a lot of questions and Laura was very informative. I would definitely recommend Laura to anyone looking for a home in the area and would use her again if we ever decide to make a move.
