I purchased a townhome from Greg Margliano in 2007. I originally put a deposit down on a unit before construction. After construction began we were asked to come pick out our homes interiors. At this time I was told by Greg that my particular unit was going up in price if I wanted to proceed. I agreed to proceed based on the statement from Greg that all the units like mine were being increased also. After closing on the property I realized that this was not true and that Greg lied directly to my face. I wish at the time I would have gone after Greg and the developer legally. This was not the first time home buyer experience I was looking for. I would not recommend this realtor. This story is the truth.
This occurred in the middle of the real estate boom and subsequent crash. The developer set the prices and then raised the prices. Everyone had a chance to back out but at the time everyone thought they were sitting on $100k+ in profit. Obviously the market crashed and good investments turned to bad investments very quickly. I'm sorry this person lost money but the developer's price raise and national market crash were out of my control.
