In 1989, I opened Wendie Reid Realty in the village of Gardiner. Most of my business came from past clients and referrals. That says a lot. And, it is still true. Having a real estate transaction is a lot more complex and potentially stressful than most people imagine. My extensive knowledge and 25 years of experience will lead you through a hand-held one to one sale or purchase. I will be there with you every step of the way.

I received my real estate license in October 1985, and by February 1986 I had sold over two million dollars worth of real estate. This was not beginners luck. I worked long, hard hours. I signed up for every real estate course that was available to me, attended local, state and national real estate conferences, and quickly earned nationally accredited designations. I consistently won national level sales awards during my four years with a large national franchise real estate firm.

As the chairperson of the Southern Ulster Area MLS Agent Tours since 1990, I can truly say that I may have seen more homes in my market area than any other agent around. I have marketed more than ten major subdivisions and many more minor subdivisions. I have designed and helped build many spec houses for my developer-clients. Helping a customer transition from selling their current home and buying or building a new home is one of my areas of expertise. I have marketed and sold multimillion-dollar country estates and large tracts of land for development.

Sold a Multiple Occupancy home in 2013 in Gardiner, NY.

It is too easy to say that so-and-so is terrific, but in reality it is the specifics that count. We interviewed Wendie Reid along with two other brokers at the recommendation of a close friend who is a retired broker, who had explained to us that all three have different styles and that all three are good, that we would have to decide which we feel most comfortable with. Wendie resolved that question by being the ONLY one of the three who followed through—on keeping in touch—on sharing other listings—on presenting us with comparables. It became a no-brainer that we would be utilizing her services to sell our home. She sold our home before it even went on the market! Personally we don’t feel there was anything uniquely special about our typical three-bedroom split level house, but she managed to present it in a light that “grabbed” the buyers, who were indeed the first persons to look at it—and in truth (and in our opinion) well before it was ready to be shown! Her philosophy of “a house sells itself” rather than her being aggressive is an powerful characteristic in a sales agent; she makes herself available as a resource rather than pushes herself onto potential buyers (which too often can mean BETWEEN potential buyers and a property). We might add that the price we SOLD for after negotiations was exactly what the two other sales agents had suggested that we LIST at! Wendie is on top of the market! One other of Wendie’s characteristics is particularly noteworthy: her attention to detail. Although this had been our primary home for decades, in recent years, with a retirement home elsewhere, we had spent less and less time here. She was able to address various points—by page number!—of a structural report to justify certain positions we had taken regarding condition of the house. She remembered details that we—the owners of the house—had forgotten! And with this attention to detail, she made the whole process of selling as objectively efficient and at the same time as easy for us sellers who were giving up a home of several decades. We could not possibly write a more positive review of a real estate sales agent!  More Less

Found a tenant for a Single Family home in New Paltz, NY.
