The media could be solely responsible for the Real Estate mess we are having today. They have just totally invaded and disrupted the minds of the Americans.
Good question.I'll start off: 1) Make a 20% down pay and still have another 20% left in your bank2) Have a steady income for the next 30 years3) Not waste equity for leisure4) Not get divorced5) Always work out and be healthy
If the government is not willing to help out with the mortgage issues, perhaps, it is up to us to take this matter into our own hands. As a homeowner myself, I can not stand to risk my house in jeopardy as people continue to spread hypocrisy just so that the people who can not afford to buy a house can afford it in the future.Don't you guys think that we as home owners should create some kind of alliance to fight back against these buyers? Perhaps we can make a stand and not lower our prices for years which will finally shut them up so we can go back to our business
The media seems to have done an excellent job brainwashing buyers nationally. Real Estate is local but due to national exposure via internet/tv, it seems to be affecting us all.
The media tends to over-exaggerate a lot of things. Some people tend to take them too seriously and then they just tend to blow things out of proportion. For instance, I remember when milk prices arose .50 cents per gallon and they thought that the nation was in turmoil. Same thing with the Real Estate market, the house prices are down maybe 2-3% nation-wide and people thinks that this is the next recession. People need to understand what is reality and what is just some news to place something on the cover section of a newspaper. If you look nationally, the house prices are still relatively stable. In some other parts of the country, the home prices are still appreciating in value. Why don't we hear that in the news huh?
Right now, there are more buyers than ever before. They are all just waiting for prices to come down, which is not going to happen anytime soon. It's like the buyers are now in a suppressed mode and pretty soon there will be a huge explosion of house buying market spree all across the country. At that point, we will come back to where we are today ala 2004. These are things that economist predict but does not get in the news because the media just wants to spread gloom and fear because it keeps viewers more interested. This is all just a giant media scam. We are just feeding into the media to generate more revenue for them newsmen.
If I were to make a decision now, I would buy a house now than to become a renter throwing away money for rest of the year. There are many benefits owning a home. The most important benefit being having your own home. There is no feeling like it. You get to turn up the music as loud as you want without having someone next door to you knock on your door at 2 in the morning. The other things would be getting back your taxes, in which if you were to rent, you would be just as well throwing your money away to the government. You will not get any of these benefits by living in your small little apartment.
NEED to buy now! What should I do?
