Bought a Single Family home in 2010 in McLean Gardens, Washington, DC.
We must have looked at over twenty prospective houses with Bill, trying to find one in our price range with an elevator, or where it would be feasible to add one. He never gave up. When we finally found this property and our bank of 40+ years could not meet our mortgage needs in a terrible financial market, he introduced us to one which could--with a jumbo 30 year loan at the best going rate. This allowed us to go to closing without having a contingency on the sale of our condominium, which was important in our negotiating a reasonable price for our new home.

Meanwhile Bill advised us on the preparation of our condo for sale, and recommended a number of contractors for painting and flooring and other repairs. He helped me organize competitive bidding for these works and supervised the work while we were away from Washington on vacation. The work was done quickly and of high quality. Within days of closing on our new property, we were able to put the condo on the market. We sold the condo in ten days for 97% of our asking price. He devised the marketing materials and photos, and for the pricing strategy he brought in realtors from other, competing, firms to evaluate the condo and advise me as to the asking price. My friends are amazed that we were able to sell the condo at a substantial capital gain in the September 2009 market.

Here at our new home we have very comprehensive renovation and remodeling works underway. Bill put me in touch with contractors and suppliers and helped me organize the competitive bidding amongst several firms. The chosen contractor began work the day after we closed on the house. Everything went well and on schedule. All in all, this transition for us was extremely successful. Thanks to Bill,. we weathered many critical snags in this complicated process. His reassuring calm saw us through.

Sold a Single Family home in 2010 in Adams Morgan, Washington, DC.
I was lucky to find Bill Panici to sell my house on Wyoming Ave. He took great acre to show me similar properties in the neighborhood To help me Fairly price the property. He helped me find a contractor to paint the house. After I relocated to Florida he found somebody to wash all the windows and fix the garden. All in all he sold the house at a very good price in 3 months. It was a pleasure to deal with him, very professional and knowledgeable. He has become a good friend. I certainly would not hesitate to recommend him to anybody. James von RusterMore Less

Sold a Condo home in 2006 for approximately $725K in Mount Pleasant, Washington, DC.
Bill was the listing agent on the first house that I purchased, and, through the whole purchasing process, I found him to be very knowledgeable of the house and neighborhood. When I sold that same house, years later, I sought out Bill, and asked him to represent me in the sell, and, once again, he demonstrated his knowledge and experience by producing an excellent brochure and website virtual tour of my house.

I sold my house during the downturn of the housing market, and I credit the brochure, website and virtual tour that Bill created with getting more viewings and eventually multiple offers on the house when, in general, most properties weren't selling as quickly as expected.

His demeanor let me know that I was getting sound, logical and good advice.

I recommend him and will ask him to represent me again if and when I am ready to purchase or sell a house.

Although I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, I have spent most of my adult life in the East.  I have degrees from Elmhurst College, The Ohio State University, and Yale University.  Prior to joining Weichert, Realtors, I taught French and Italian in some fine colleges and universities including Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Vanderbilt University, University of Rochester, and Dickinson College.

Before joining Weichert in 1995, I was with another broker for two years, and with Shannon & Luchs for eight years before that.  I was a consistent top producer in those offices, listing and selling single-family homes, apartment buildings, cooperatives, condominiums, and condo-offices.  I have been able to list or sell homes for scores of satisfied customers resulting in winning Weichert's Chairman's Club award, and annual awards for Top Producer (sales production in excess of $5 million each year) from the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS®.

I own a home in historic Mount Pleasant which I am perpetually restoring.  I am very committed to preservation/restoration in my neighborhood and, consequently, am very active in the Historic Mount Pleasant Commission, having served on its design review committee through the 1990s.  I am now a member of its Board of Directors.  In the mid 90s, I was Director of the Historic Real Estate Program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.  I also served as president of the Thomas Circle Singers from 1985-87, overseeing all functions of this 35-member chamber choir.  I have also sung with the National Men's Chorus under the direction of Thomas Beveridge.  I continue to support the arts in Washington as a subscriber to the Washington National Opera and as a volunteer at Arena Stage.

A devoted tree enthusiast, one fall I worked with the Department of Trees and Landscape to mark tree planting sites as part of an effort to help restore D.C.'s tree canopy.  Since 1997, I have been personally responsible for raising more than $30,000 from neighbors, homeowners, associations, and council members to protect the 9 mature American elm trees along a two-block stretch bordering Rock Creek Park in my neighborhood.  This project has spurred others locally to do something similar.  Weichert recognized me with their 2005 Community Service Award for my work with this project.

I love my work as a REALTOR®.  I enjoy working with both buyers and sellers who have come to know me for my absolute integrity, quality service, and complete professionalism.  I look forward to including you among them.
