Hans Wydler is an outstanding Realtor as well as a very personable agent whom I got to know for too brief a time. That is to say, we placed the condo on the market in March and closed in April. We interviewed three agents, all of whom were very good. We picked Hans because his marketing proposal seemed the most realistic. Hans Wydler and his team helped my wife and I buy our home in the Spring Hill neighborhood in Bethesda. They were absolutely fantastic in every regard.
At the outset of our home search, we had very specific requirements for our home in terms of being located in a particular elementary school district, having a particular floor plan, having a certain number of bedrooms/bathrooms, etc. Since the inventory of available houses in our desired neighborhood was quite limited, we realized that it may take longer than usual to find a new home, and Hans was extremely good at finding potential homes for us (often before they were publicly listed) and was patient with us every step of the way in our search.
He was quickly able to understand the precise types of houses for which we were looking and provided us with his keen insight about various homes and about the market to help us throughout our search. When we found our house, he effectively negotiated on our behalf to secure a sales price well below the asking price, even in somewhat of a "seller's market."
Hans also helped us sell our prior home and was able to secure a very attractive, non-contingent offer in less than one week after our home went on the market.

Having been in the market to buy a house in the DC suburbs for several years, but biding our time, and having been courted by several agents, my wife and I feel very fortunate to have met Hans and his team at the right time. Like most, we had a challenging set of constraints: space for a growing family, location for commute and schools, garage to work on cars, fenced yard for dogs. All under a modest budget for an engineer and a school teacher. The budget aspect made the negotiations critical and Hans was skilled at closing the deal when both parties were close to walking away. We came away with enough cash at closing to fix immediate plumbing issues with the house which could not have been caught from the visual inspection.
From start to finish in the process Hans and his team were professional and pleasant and bent over backwards to accommodate the hectic schedules of our professional lives. One aspect of his style I particularly appreciated was his ability to work electronically with documents in a secure way. Due to the timing of our purchase (negotiations started mid-November and lasted to mid-December) we were in continuous communication over the holidays. My wife could deal with documents in the car while on ten-hour toad trips, I could sign an addendum while with my daughter at swim lessons, and so on. It was just very refreshing to deal with a modernized and responsive office team.
The icing on the cake was using KVS Title to close the deal. I highly recommend them (and they came highly recommended by Hans). Marty Stanton was first rate. They really roll out the red carpet treatment, but also back it up with solid legal skills. I felt completely comfortable throughout the whole process, even though we had some minor hiccups in getting the seller's things out of the house. In the end, a solid hand from Mr. Stanton and his team at KVS allowed an amiable resolution to the matter between us and the seller---a welcome conclusion.
