I heard the saddest story the other day at the hairdressers whereas a very handsome young man who was half of an interracial gay couple was speaking of the discrimination he and his partner were experiencing trying to rent a house. I have a couple of rentals coming and was wondering if it would be discriminatory to state "Interracial gay couple welcomed to apply with discounted rent."
My husband and I are refinancing our primary residence with the same company who has had the mtg for 13 years to lower our rate. We have a now valuable lakefront lot about an hour from our house which we bought and paid cash for long ago to leave our boat parked at. It has a mailbox and small open pavillion on it with a half bath though the County does not list it as anything but a vacant lot. Since we get magazines and have a small water and power bill there it shows on our credit report as an address for us but there is no corresponding mortgage and never has been appearing on our credit report. That alone has always sufficed as proofthat we own it free and clear as no mortgage or lien against it appears on our credit report. That always sufficed with a letter of explanation the several times we have refinanced our primary residence over the last 15 years. The land is posted which in our state suffices to not have insurance under Louisiana's Napeloonic Code laws which is good as noone writes in that Parish over hurricanes LOL. If someone in La gets hurt on posted land it is on them though we have a rider on our boat policy referring to "a place where you routinely dock" being covered insurancewise. We also have a house at Norris Lake in Atlanta which we use as a vacation home and which is also paid for. Our mortgage company proved to the Underswriter it was paid for as there was no mortgage company listed on the the insurance policy but it will not work with the lake LOT near our primary home. HOW can we prove we own the lot free and clear? I sent a copy of five years of the property tax receipts but it did not satisfy the person who approves it...and we are set to close otherwise. The attorney that closed it when we purchased it died long ago and I have long since lost the closing documents from probably 20 years ago. I LOVE ZILLOW THX FOR ANSWERING!!
Ms. Dotson Thank you for your opinion. If you have anyone headed to hattiesburg from Madison/Ridgeland who is looking to lease in Oak Grove refer them and I will be sure you are protected and compensated. We have had a man from North-East Jackson and a family from Madison in that different times over the years and a fine family from the Delta in that house as tenants and all three went on to buy homes in the immediate area.
We have a lovely 3/2 contemporary story and a half home with a two story living room way out in Oak Grove off 589 on about two and one half acres and adjoining larger acreage we own. It was our primary residence in our youth before we left the area with career.in 1987. We rented it for 20 years always to delightful people a couple of Professors and a Chiropractor and the owner of a leading Hattiesburg business and a Laurel oil family who moved off the Avenues in Laurel and stayed a year while they built a lavish new home down on small acreage just the road. We have the home fully furnished now as a weekend house with excellent things (Natuzzi sectional, Dedon furniture, high end mattresses, marble dining table, top notch mirrors, etc) as we have been using it ourselves as a weekend home for the last five years. I have considered renting the home furnished this time primarily not to have to store furniture LOL as we did with a home we own in Shaker Heights OH and have had excellent luck getting petrochemical people in for a year wanting to lease furnished. Someone who knows whoever is living there at the time always leases it by word of mouth when the tenants goes. Is there a market for furnished homes in Oak Grove? Everything is chic, marble floors, upscale bathrooms, premium window treatments, etc.
We have A tier credit and I am a heqalthcare professional with a longterm government job and we have 20 perecnt down and cash to do our ownn repairs. A few years ago we would have been fought over by mtg companies LOL. Does anyone know of a national company which would have a fixed rate product for someone in our situation. We have found a home thta a man from another state bought and tore out the kitch and baths to redo as a retirement home and passed away before he had finished. Short of an FHA 203k are there any other financing options for us? We would be willing to use someone from Zillow who is with a company that can underwrite in a distant state.
THX we are baffled (as to) why our scores have fallen to low 800s when they were all within ten points of the respective top scores of the three agencies and nothing has changed without finances at all. I thought that the computer flipping our address between our three homes all the time might have been the culprit of this.METRO ATLANTA IS THE MOST FABULOUS PLACE ON EARTH! I wish we could live there full time!
My husband and I own three homes, our primary residence and a weekend country home in a neighboring state and a lake house that we use a few times a year in Gwinnett County Georgia. My credit monitoring service CONSTANTLY emails me alerts my address has changed, I suppose it is as we get certain magazines and bills at each house. All three scores are 800s but does this affect our credit? This email of address change does come enveloped in the potential negative alerts section. Our homes are paid for which is not tax friendly LOL so I always keep my score high as you never know when a special place will come along that you might wish to mortgage and reap tax advantages from so I DO CARE! Our scores are all still 800s but low 800s and nothing has changed with our finances since they were all a few points from the absolute top score consistently for several years.I wondered if this constant change of address between the three houses is affecting our score badly. THX!!!!!
off Zillow and his broker wil not help me. THANKS!
I claimed my recenly purchased home on Zillow with the intention of going in and deleting the listing but I am not allowed to since my agent has his name on it still. We have security concerns as we have had several people peering in windows while we were there after seeing the home on Zillow. My agent has his check and seems disinterested in helping us remove it. How can I remove the listing and price history etc? Thanks!
Is anyone doing a ten percent down fixed-rate mortgage on a second home for A tier credit? We live a few hours from Atlanta and weekend there often. I am a healthcare professional and would be buying about 30 percent of what I would qualify for as a primary residence. My first home is paid for AND I DO NOT WANT TO MORTGAGE IT and my CPA suggested we buy a second home for the tax advantages. But I do not want to put 20 percent down or mortgage my first home under any conditions.
