My 30+ years in Real Estate, both as an Agent and a Certified Real Estate Appraiser, have given me the skills and knowledge to work with both buyers and sellers.

My knowledge extends to what is beneficial in regards to repairing and remodeling homes. I know what should be done and what shouldn't.  I have successfully worked with buyers in the most recent very tough markets. I listened to their needs and desires and take the time to find the right house. In many of the cases working with buyers, the process has taken more than 6 months due to the difficulty of the market.
 
Additionally, With over 8,000 appraisals completed in Santa Clara County alone, I can "specialize" in any zip code or market. Not everything brings back your investment. Many upgrades actually give a return higher than the investment. The house on Somerville in my sales list was worth only about $1,000,000 prior to spending $125k on remodeling. The sellers doubled their investment with a final sales price of $1,250,000. The same was true for the Ensalmo sale. It was worth less than $700k prior to a $45k investment in repairs and upgrades and it sold for $780,000, again doubling the sellers investment. I have contacts that do quality work, for a reasonable price, which helps sell the property in any type of market. Conversely, if I work with a buyer, I know what kind of remodeling is valuable and what is excessive.

Tom helped us make a long distance sale in Los Gatos after we had moved back east. He made the sale very easy for us. He handled every detail including scheduling the gardening, and final cleanups and did it all long distance. We were very pleased with his knowledge, kindness, and expertise. He also managed the long distance sale, document signing, efficiently and with very little required of us. I would definitely recommend Tom for his knowledge of the area and the real estate market.

Sold a Single Family home in 2015 for approximately $1.45M in Los Gatos, CA.

Tom helped us make a long distance sale in Los Gatos after we had moved back east. He made the sale very easy for us. Bought a home in 2006 in San Mateo Village, San Mateo, CA 94403.

Tom assisted me in the purchases of two homes, both during competitive markets, and the sale of one home. In both purchase instances I happily purchased a home I truly loved, for a fair price. Both were within my budget at the time and suited me very well for the stage of life I was in at the time (pre and post family). The home sale was a little more rocky but that was due to the buyers financing issues along with the lending climate, which we had no control over. In the end it all worked out. We sold when we needed to, got a fair price and Tom handled the issues that came up, as they will inevitably, very well.

Tom was extremely patient, knowledgeable and thorough while I figured out which city was the right one to reside in. In both cases multiple cities were being considered and Tom was helpful asking the right questions to help the decision along. In the beginning he gently guided my expectations in terms of my budget and the market, which was needed especially for a green buyer. It’s clear he has a lot of experience. I also appreciated the fact that he was upfront and honest with me, when you are trying to buy a home it’s no time to beat around the bush or play games. He really listened to what I needed and what I wanted, and showed many, many, many options (I was lucky he was so good natured!).

Looking back I actually enjoyed my time house hunting, and Tom was a big reason. I felt comfortable, knew I was in good hands and was never rushed, whether buying or selling. I’m sure you will feel the same way too.

Sold a home in 2013 in San Mateo Village, San Mateo, CA 94403.

He helped us purchase our current residence as well as the one before that. It took 5 months to find the right house, but he was very patient and did a lot of the preliminary leg work for us ("Come and see this one quickly" or "Don't bother looking at this one, its not what you want.") He also listed and sold our previous residence and more recently sold a residential investment property for us.  More Less
