We connected, but it did not work out.
Based on the fairly good reviews she's received, I contacted her about a property I was interested and asked her if she could give me a call the next day. Her email response next day was this one phrase, ."Too short of a notice." There was no "Hi [my name]," no "Sorry, I will contact you by [the end of the week]," no "I am currently tied but one of my associates will contact you..," or no signature of hers at the end of the email. It was incredibly blunt and rude (worse than some rude short response you see on an anonymous message board or some such sort). To give her a benefit of doubt (thinking maybe she was in the middle of something and meant to write me back...) I emailed her back asking what time would be good for her, and she never replied. I am glad that I never got to work with her - it would've been so awful if I did and she'd shown such an attitude along the way. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BARBARA KORABEL TO ANYBODY.

Dear mk951. On Wed March 5th at 12:57 AM you requested a phone conversation from 9AM to 11AM. At 9:52 AM I responded too short of a notice. My days are planned well in advance and when I am with a client as I had planned to be at 8AM I focus my entire attention on them as they deserve. Unfortunately I have not learned how to exist without sleep and I do not stay up all hours of the morning to answer emails. Rather than ignore you I simple sent a short statement as my client had taken a call. In the future if you kindly request information during normal business hours you would have a different result.

Bought a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $325K in Poughkeepsie, NY.
My husband and I always knew we wanted to buy a house but kept putting it off until we were ready. Well, about a year ago, the stars aligned and we decided to start the search for our perfect home. Being new to this whole house-buying process we were pretty much clueless and had to rely on our real estate agent to guide us through everything. Well, lucky for us that we did! Barbara Korabel was either heaven sent or hand-picked by God for us, b/c without her we would not be in our house right now, and I sincerely mean that. All I can say about Barbara is that you will be in the BEST HANDS IN THE BUSINESS. We came across some shady people during our experience, but she shined like a star every single time. She recommended some amazing people to us (that we still use to this day) and she does not double-check on things, she triple-checks! This may have rubbed some people the wrong way during our journey together, but she made us, the buyers, feel confident and safe and we knew she was in our corner every step of the way. Some realtors are out there to make the quick sale and get their money and get out -- not Barbara. She worked with us even through some hiccups that occurred to ensure that one way or another, we were going to be taken care of. Who does that? Barbara Korabel does! Our home buying experience is one for the record books and one day we'll tell our boys the story when they are old enough to understand, but my husband and I will be sure to tell our boys that we will ALWAYS hold Barbara Korabel in the highest regard b/c she not only gets the job done, she does it with love, friendship and compassion. She clearly loves what she does for a living and it shows in her attitude and work ethic. It was business each time we met and spoke, but it was also very pleasurable. She makes you feel comfortable enough to be yourself and even if you have a million and one questions to ask (like we did!), she will never rush you. She is personable, caring, always early for appointments (we were the ones who showed up late a few times!), over-extends herself, knowledgeable about pretty much everything -- and if she didn't know the answer to one of our questions she always said she would research it and get back to us -- and SHE ALWAYS DID! She does not work 9-5 -- she works whenever you need her. When I say you are in the BEST, MOST RELIABLE HANDS, I truly mean it. I could easily sit here and write for hours about all of the amazing things she did for us. I will say this -- if you decide to work with Barbara, you will have a truly wonderful experience. She keeps it professional and she becomes your friend at the same time, and that is what you want during this process. You want someone who has your best interest in mind, especially if you you are a first-time home buyer like we were. Once you tell her what you are looking for, she is all over it and she finds you beautiful properties to look at. There were a few listings that I found on my own and sent to her and she was not shy about telling us that maybe that particular property wouldn't work for us for whatever the reason. She is not shy and timid, she is in fact the opposite -- she is a go-getter, she is honest, and she will fight for you tooth and nail if she has to -- trust me, she did for us, and we are forever grateful to her for that. So, I can only say if you are looking to buy or sell a house, go with Barbara Korabel. She is simply amazing and that can not even sum up how GREAT SHE TRULY IS!!

Sold a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $275K in Highland, NY.
We relocated from NY to the southern US in 2012 and Barbara was instrumental in helping us convert our primary home into a rental property. This year when we decided to try and sell our home Barbara was indispensable in getting our home sold as a short sale. If it was not for her I am sure we would not have been able to get through the sale and negotiation with the bank as well as we did. We are extremely satisfied and happy with the service that Barbara has provided for us and I highly recommend her services. Do not hesitate to hire her, you will not be disappointed!

Bought a Townhouse home in 2013 for approximately $275K in Middletown, NY.
Barbara Korabel did an amazing job finding a home for my husband and I when we moved to Middletown a few months ago. After just meeting us and showing us a few houses she was able to determine what type of home was best for our lifestyle and sure enough we went out the next day and found the perfect place for us. Barbara is very knowledgeable about the area, is a quick study on homes, what work they'll need, if the appliances and systems are in good working order and if it will be a good resale down the road. I was most impressed by her amazing negotiation skills and the ability to keep on top of everyone from the banker to the lawyers. It was truly a pleasure working with Barbara on our NY move! Sincerely, Gail W

Sold a Single Family home in 2013 in Cypress, TX.
My husband and I recently had the pleasure of having Barbara sell our house that is located out of state. Barbara's dedication and commitment clearly showed in her execution of the sale. She is professional every step of the way, and kept us updated with each and every step. Barbara is a real first class realtor and we highly reccomend her to anybody in the market of buying, selling or renting. Barbara has a great deal of knowledge which makes her a great woman to work with.

Bought a home in 2010.
I have bought and sold real estate for most of my adult life. Sometimes for myself and sometimes as investments. With 40 years of experience it is rare I meet someone who impresses me and even rarer I meet a real estate professional who knows more than me. That was Ms. Korabel. With an omnipresent smile she negotiated even after sale for things other might think too small to bother with. I have only had the opportunity to use her once and I would use her again. No other Realtor has ever saved me as much aggravation and money as she has. She went above and beyond what anyone would expect and did it as effortlessly as could be imagined.

Thanks, Barbara.

Sold a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $425K in New Paltz, NY.
Barbara is absolutely the most responsible, energetic, professional realtor I have ever met. She was honest from the outset and gave us a realistic assessment of our home without wasting our time (which was crunched and precious). She is an aggressive marketer and didn't just "take" our listing and wait for someone else to find a buyer. She was in it like a prizefighter, jabbing at every market she could find, listing us in different MLS to get us the broadest audience possible. I cannot recommend her more enthusiastically. If you really want your house to sell, Barbara is the one!

Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $250K in Pine Bush, NY.
Closed on my new home about a month ago in Pine Bush. Barbara was extremely helpful in every aspect from finding homes, area knowledge, loan process, to closing. Would always get a call or email back in a reasonable time and she would show houses when ever possible. I would recomend her very highly and would most defiantly use her again.

Sold a home in 2012.
For the past 4 years Barbra has been working relentlessly to get my house sold, help me work through this horrible situation with my mortgage company, and to get me out of a horrible situation I was put in. I honestly have to say if it was not for her I do not know what I would have done.

Thank you so much for all your help, I am sure we will be in touch.

Bought a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $175K in Accord, NY.
Barbara was an absolute pleasure to work with and was extremely patient with our many questions and concerns as first-time homebuyers. She was always quick to respond to calls and emails and stayed actively involved in the process, all the way up to the closing and subsequent move-in. We were in a hurry to close and she helped us meet our timetable, ensuring that it all happened in a smooth and expedited manner. We are in love with our new house, but equally loved the process of finding it, since Barbara made it such a fun experience. We consider her a friend now and will miss our days of looking at homes together! Her local knowledge (both of the area as well as people who work in the industry) was invaluable to out-of-towners like ourselves. I will recommend her to anyone I know.
