A resident of Northern New Mexico since 1985, married for fifteen years to Taos attorney Kelan Emery. More Less
My BS degree is in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, in 1983.
Originally licensed as a New Mexico Real Estate Agent in 1988, I sold timeshares in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and in Mazatlan, Mexico. Returning to Taos full time in 1989, I worked in Taos Ski Valley in the management of the Twining Condos for four Ski Seasons. For several summers I sold fine art in the upscale galleries in the Taos community. I stayed home after our daughter was born, then returned to Real Estate after she started school.
The Taos Charter School has been the focus of much of my attention, where I volunteer in their fundraising organization, Friends of Taos Charter School. We recently completed the design and construction of an energy efficient, green and solar gymnasium for the school. I administered a grant from New Mexico State Forestry for native landscaping on the surrounding grounds.
I helped to coordinate a new Community Solar Array at Taos Charter School, and with our rural Electric Coop, Kit Carson Elerctic, which the public can purchase solar panels and receive credit on their electricity bills from the energy produced by those panels. It is the first Community Solar Array in New Mexico. An advocate for renewable energy, I am a founding member of the non-profit Renewable Taos, which promotes the full transition to renewable energy for North Central New Mexico.
Our favorite aspects of living in Taos are the wonderful climate, diverse culture, splendid scenery, great family recreational opportunities. We are skiers, campers and hikers. Our favorite ventures include weekend jaunts to the fabulous National Parks and Monuments of the Southwest. We love the creativity of this community in health, music, arts, politics, education. We just couldn''''t imagine living anywhere else, so I enthusiastically represent the real estate of our area.
I look forward to serving you.
