Sold a home in 2013.
I first met Burt in 2011 when I was viewing a house he was selling. I instantly liked him becuase he had a great knowledge of the market, was interested but not pushy and really listened to our needs and offered some great advice. When we did decide to sell a few months ago, we gave Burt a call and asked him to be our agent. He mobilized quickly, had us on the market in a few days, and sold a few days after that! And was able to quickly find us the home of our dreams!! When I think about the stessful process of buying and selling, Burt was the rock that kept calm and guided us on the right path. I trust Burt completely and would recommend him to anyone! He truly puts your needs, and that of your family, as his top priority!

If you’re looking for a great realtor, stop the search because Burt Fujishima is your guy! If you’re not convinced, read on for more details. After two strike outs, in the search for my first home, Burt took the plate as my third realtor and he hit a homerun! Based on my own experience and the experience of my family and friends, I’ve learned that finding a good realtor can be quite difficult. Many realtors nowadays are better at selling themselves than selling homes. The process is as follows: once they acquire you as a client, they enter your information in the MLS search and then listings are automatically sent to your email where you are left to do most of the searching on your own. Technology is great, but in this case it allows many realtors to do minimal work while taking on more clients than they can handle. After hours of searching through the automatically generated listings, you mark the listings that you are interested in and request that your realtor schedule appointments. Unfortunately my first two realtors were very unreliable when it came to scheduling appointments. I felt like I was always having to accommodate their schedules, which was difficult due to my hectic travel schedule, and there were times where I actually had to plan business trips around their schedules just so I could see properties. By the time I was actually able to get my realtors to schedule the appointments (many phone calls and emails later) half of the condos were off the market. Both of my realtors were consistently late when meeting me at the properties and I even had one no show (my realtor was still in bed when I called her to find out where she was) and she had come highly recommended! When I was with my realtors in person however, their upbeat selling skills seemed to shine, and I would overlook their flaws and give them another chance. Eventually I got frustrated though so I began calling the listing agents directly in order to schedule the appointments to see the properties on my own. This is how I met Burt. Burt was the only agent who actually returned my call and he met me at the property that had been listed with him. He made such a strong impression on me that I decided to have him show me other properties. Unlike the other realtors, Burt didn’t rely on the MLS to do all the work, but he reviewed the listings, and gave me feedback on every property that met my criteria so that we didn’t waste time scheduling the wrong properties. Burt always showed up to appointments on time (usually early) and he always responded to emails/phone calls right away whether morning or night. Burt always worked around my schedule (instead of the other way around) and once at the properties, Burt consistently impressed me with his extensive knowledge that ranged anywhere from condo association rules to the inner workings of a dishwasher. This is important because as a first time buyer it can be a little scary trying to make decisions when you don’t fully grasp the home buying process (the last thing you want is to make a poor decision when it comes to buying a home). With Burt by your side you can rest assured you have a professional you can count on to guide you every step of the way, easing you through the learning process so that you are comfortable and confident when it comes time to close on your new home. I looked at a large number of neighborhoods in Chicago going as far north as Edgewater, as far south as the South Loop, as far west as the West Loop, Bucktown, and Roscoe Village, and just about everywhere in between. Burt continued to impress with his knowledge of every neighborhood we looked in. When it came time to make an offer, Burt was happy to hear my thoughts and handle all of the negotiations from there. Once my price was accepted, he continued to help negotiate through the inspection process, and he was there to guide me all the way through closing. I always feel that with any job, it’s good to not only have a solid grasp of your own job functions, but the job functions of those who work around you. Burt’s knowledge is so vast that I actually felt like I was working with a realtor/inspector/mortgage broker/real estate attorney all in one and his years of experience have prepared him to easily resolve the wide range of obstacles that often arise during home buying process. While I’m sure I haven’t even touched on many of Burt’s qualifications, this review is already lengthy so I will end with this: If you are looking for someone who can make you feel comfortable and confident in your pursuit of your new home, being there to help every step of the way (including weeks after closing) I highly recommend Burt. He is a good, smart person that you can count on to put your best interests first and I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better realtor.

Bought a Condo home in 2013 in Lake View, Chicago, IL.
I recently made my first home purchase, a condo in Lakeview, Chicago. Burt made this process easy, informative and enjoyable for me. He is a real professional who knows the area and the market well. I would feel very confident in recommending Burt's abilities to anyone looking to buy the right home. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to the financials involved in purchasing a home in this area such as, assessment fees and reserves, taxes, future resale value, and any other additional costs of living in certain neighborhoods. Burt not only put me in a condo I am very happy with, but through working with him I know I will be a better, more knowledgeable homeowner. Burt went above and beyond throughout this process for me, and really showed he cared throughout and even after my home purchase.

Burt is an outstanding realtor and just a very nice guy to boot. He is professional, efficient and tireless. We are out-of-town buyers and he organized efficient, productive showings around our schedules. He also handled negotiations with the seller which resulted in a purchase. He handled all of the ancillary issues including suggesting real estate attorneys, home inspectors, etc. He has a very good command of current real estate trends and values and I felt as though he helped us engineer a good deal. I recommend him without reservation to anyone needing a Windy City realtor!

Sold a Condo home in 2013 for approximately $350K in West Town, Chicago, IL.
Where do I start? Burt is a total professional. He went above and beyond what a typical real estate agent would do, and I have met plenty in my time. We needed to sell our dime-a-dozen condo in a down market during recession and Burt totally came through for us. His knowledge of the market, his willingness to market the property and re-market the property and his absolute professionallism and tenacity through the negotiation and sale allowed for me to be confident and secure in our situation.

I am a very detailed person, to a fault and Burt still caught things for me to review. I was completely impressed and thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with him. Honestly he allowed for me to sleep at night.

Bought a home in 2012.
What can I say about Burt.... He came highly recommended by a friend and we had experience with many real estate agents before and our experienced ranged from bad to pretty good. Our expectations were high (the way he was recommended) but Burt totally shattered them in every aspect: he really put our interests above anything else, he was very good at discussing aspects and his remarks and comments very helpfull. Extremely patient. I would not hesitate to recommend him!

For the negative side....I had to dig deep to find a negative aspect but here it is: Once (in the 30-40 times we met to look at property) Burt was 5 minutes late at the appointment because he had problems finding a place to park.. Yep: that's the highest negative aspect I could document about Burt...
