how do you handle a rental? what is the fee charged for advertising?

Answer

You're looking to rent your house out I'm guessing? You can either handle it yourself, hire a property management company, or an agent to handle it, depending on how involved you want to be.If you find and screen a tenant on your own and feel comfortable collecting rent, dealing with repairs and maintenance, etc., you can avoid paying ANY fees.If you hire an agent to rent it out, you can expect to pay somewhere around 1 - 2 months rent to the agent for finding a tenant. You could also hire a property management company who may charge you a fee and a percentage of the monthly rent, and they will manage the property for you. This is much more hands-off, but you won't be getting nearly as much $ as if you did it yourself. How comfortable/familiar are you with doing things on your own?
