It's not off the market - in fact I just posted the "make me move" entry yesterday. If I search by full address and zip:6910 S. High Point Lane, Columbia, Mo 65203it shows up. But if I leave off the zip like this:6910 S. High Point Lane, Columbia, Moit doesn't show up.And if I try just the street address + zip like this:6910 S. High Point Lane, 65203it also doesn't show up.A bug? Thanks, doug
My house in Columbia, MO for some reason has never existed in the database.Today I added a "Make me Move" entry and I can look it up by street address, city and state and zip, but can't look it up just by street address and zip code or just street address, city and state?Any idea why I can't look it up by zip code? Or by full street address without the zip? Thanks, doug
Sorry for double-post. Please see question posted after this.
Drew, So what did you mean by asking me to enter the addresses and that you would look into it?All the available objective facts, including lot size, house size, assessment value and the fact that they are attached houses show that my property should be higher, if anything, than the property next door. So why is it estimating for so much of a lower value?doug
Oh, and you can confirm the different lot sizes with online public information by going to the Saint Louis assessors office online and inputting the addresses.doug
Thanks for your replies. As you can see from the public information, the assessment is higher and the house is larger and the property is larger at 1215 than at 1213. The 1213 house sold for more money because of various factors, including the fact that when I bought 1215 the owners were in a real rush because they had another house they were buying that was contingent on the sale, and, frankly, they had a terrible realtor who did not fix up the house to show, etc.But since all the objective, public facts show the 1213 house as having larger everything than the 1215 house it actually assesses higher and I hope you can adjust the Zillow estimate to make it more like the 1213 house.I just worry that should I ever want to sell the house, or get a home equity loan, that prospective buyers or loan officers will look at this site and wonder "why is 1215's estimate so much lower than 1213's, when it is attached to 1213 and seems bigger, etc."Can't Zillow adjust it to make it fairer? Thanks, doug
Drew,My house it 1215 MacKay Place, 63104My neighbor's house is 1213 MacKay Place, 63104As mentioned in my first note:1. These are attached houses, built at the same time.2. My house has slightly larger floor space.3. The insides have the same number of baths, bedrooms, etc. Both have finished basements.4. Both have carports.5. My lot is the same depth, but wider than my neighbor's. In fact, my lot is the largest lot on the row. Also note:a. My property taxes are higher than my neighbors (because my house and lot are larger).b. I have a brand new roof and brand new furnace, which my neighbor does not have.c. I have a private storeroom with extra entrance, which my neighbor does not have.Yet my estimate is just $194,000 and my neighbor's is $277,000! Her's is probably correct, considering the appreciation in value in this historic district. It makes no sense, and I would appreciate your looking into it.Thanks!Doug
My neighbor's house and mine are:(1) Attached houses in a historic district, therefore built the same time.(2) My house is larger though.(3) My land lot size is larger.(4) We both have otherwise similar things, including an enclosed carport.Yet my neighbor's Zillow estimate is $80,000 more than mine, and their price range like an average of $150,000 higher than mine. Why is my Zillow estimate so much lower? Is there a way of requesting this be checked by the Zillow staff? Thanks, doug
