Let me start by saying that 5 stars isn't enough for Dave and his team. This was our first home purchase - and it was a pretty straight forward experience thanks to Dave. I'm going to walk through our experience because 1) it shows how awesome Dave's team is and 2) I'm just so excited about it all.
He started by sitting us down for coffee to review the process for buying a home. This first encounter inspired us to go from just browsing and dreaming about owning a home (which we had done for 3 months prior) to seriously hunting for one.
We got set up with an online list of potential houses and weeded through them until we found a set to check out. Melissa showed us around the homes we'd picked, and surprisingly to us, we found the one that we wanted. Dave took us by for a second look, and when we were sure, he called Amanda to set up the offer for us. We signed the papers the next morning and by evening it was accepted!
All throughout the process Dave helped us understand our limits and set our expectations - he was never afraid to be frank with us.
We've only known Dave for 2 months now, but he's always looking out for us, even now that we've closed. He surrounds himself with amazing people, from his team to his recommended lenders and home inspectors. Every person he's connected us to has gone above and beyond.

My wife and I were looking to buy our first home and started our search through Zillow. After several attempts at viewing homes on our own we realized the process might be smoother with an agent. We called a few more places and just happened to come in contact with Dave and his team. Dave instantly called us the moment we showed interest in one of his properties. Instead of heckling us about a time to view the home he proposed that we meet at a local cafe and allow him to introduce himself and what he could offer. Since we were first time home buyers we were more than willing to listen to any advice that was offered.
On the day we met, Dave gave us a brief, informal but highly professional presentation of the Northwood Reality services, his team and the general steps to buying a home. In no way did he push us to sign him as our agent. Instead he took the approach to introduce us to the home buying process and offered us his services if we so desired. After his presentation we got to know each other and were able to express our concerns, interests and future goals. At the end of the meeting, we both went on our way without any formal commitments other than the promise that we may work together down the road.
We contacted Dave again to set up a viewing for the home we originally contacted him about. He was very flexible in scheduling a time to see the house and was there to greet us when we arrived. Dave let us view the home on our own to formulate our own opinions. When we finished we discussed our likes and dislikes and realized that it wasn't the one for us. Dave let us know what his first impressions were and informed us of the highs and lows of the house. This initial viewing served as Dave's barometer for what we were looking for in a home. From there on out he did what he could to help us find the style of house and neighborhood we wanted to live in. After about a week, we agreed to sign Dave as our agent and really begin the search for our new home.
Throughout the process Dave was very responsive and always got back to us in a short amount of time. If Dave wasn't available a member of his staff was always able to be reached for any requests or concerns. Never once did my wife and I find ourselves questioning Dave's tactics. We were always comfortable and confident that we would find the home that suited us with Dave leading the way.
Before long we were able to settle on a house and begin the long financial process. Dave was sure to inform us of every detail and important date that we needed to meet. He doubled checked our status along the way and made sure we were comfortable with the decision we made. He also informed us of the several different options to get out of buying the home if we felt it wasn't the right choice or the right time to buy. We even ran into a error with the closing company in which we were assessed a higher closing cost and taxes that hadn't been calculated in the final total. Dave's team diligently worked with us and the closing company to rectify this error and give us piece of mind.
In no time, my wife and I were signing the papers and moving in to our new home. Never once along the way did we feel like we missed out on something or that we were being led in the wrong direction. Dave and his team did a great job throughout the entire process. We are now living in a beautiful home in a great neighborhood. We might not have been able to find such a great place without Dave's guidance.
We will be sure to contact Dave in the future if we ever plan to sell this house and begin the search for another. My wife and I both agree that we would recommend Dave and his team to anyone looking to buy in the Pittsburgh area.

As first-time homebuyers, my wife & I were clueless to the intricacies of the home-buying process. Dave was incredibly patient with us & made us feel in-control of what would have otherwise been a stressful situation. Although he does not typically represent buyers in the neighborhood in which our new home is located, Dave provided extensive research to help us understand the market.
LOVED WORKING WITH DAVE!!!! He made the whole house buying process not as painful. Every time we met he always handed my fiancé and I a packet of information on the house, the area, houses that sold, houses that were on the market and another piece of information that you would need to make a completely informed decision about the house you're planning on buying. Even though we were paying cash and at a very low price point Dave gave us the same service that he would to a buyer buying a million dollar home. He is really worked hard to find us a house that would fit our needs within our price range on top of that he was most concerned with finding us a house that was suitable even if he wasn't going to make as much money on the sale. When he was negotiating the sale he really went to work so much so that the sellers came in at a much lower price than what we expected, which is a super big bonus for us. Also for the sellers that he representing he plays hard ball with the buyers. He is 2000% honest, trustworthy and out only for your best interest. The other bonus is that he will give you his honest and professional opinion about each house you look at. You know that what he's telling you comes from his years of experience touring houses with people and what is going to fit you as the buyer. I honestly can't say enough good things about Dave. If you chose to work with him you WILL NOT be disappointed! He was a real pleasure to work with and when we buy another house we will definitely work with him again!
