Edwin Gerace was born in New York City. His father, Edwin Sr., was a New York native and a young stockbroker at the New York Stock Exchange. His mom, Jennie, was a West Virginia native. The family enjoyed a great beginning in New York City but Edwin Sr. wanted to move south and this brought them to Johnson City, Tennessee. Edwin graduated high school in Johnson City and went on to the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio where he received his bachelor's degree. While in college he was involved with the Campus Radio Station, Student Government, Resident Life Activities, Campus Church Activities, College Admissions Department, and the Varsity Tennis Team.
After graduation he went into the restaurant management business for a few years. But Edwin had grown up around real estate. His grandmot her and his aunt were both agents and he had heard about real estate most of his life. So he decided to make a change to the family business and got his real estate license.
Edwin enjoys helping people achive the American dream of home ownership. He is also active at the local level. He is a member of the Board of Realtors and has been chairman on many committee's, from community service to governmental affairs. Edwin has also been involved at the state level as a director. He is involved with the Home Builders Association and has served on the Board of Directors for Sales and Marketing Council. He got involved in the Green Building Council through HBA and was one of the first realtors in the Columbia area to become "Green Certified". Edwin is involved with the local Chamber of Commerce and has served on multiple committees, including his current position on the Planning Commission for the Town of Lexington. His certifications and designations include Certified New Homes Specialist, Certified Green Real Estate Professional and a Certified Sellers Representative
