Bought a Condo home in 2014 for approximately $275K in Somerville, MA.
I highly recommend the real estate services of Ellen Freidman. Ellen very patiently stuck with me through my search process to find just the right place, even through I had a modest budget and quite a few 'must-have' preferences I thought would not materialize. She is extremely knowledgeable about real estate, the local market, finances, and housing construction. I find Ellen to be extremely trust-worthy, reliable, responsive, patient, friendly, savvy, and smart. She listened and understood to what I needed, and walked me expertly through the entire process.
Whether it is finding the right place, putting in a competitive offer or closing, buying a home can be a stressful process. We lucked out by having Ellen as an agent. We valued her knowledge and her patience. She was not just our agent but was our advocate. We wish her all the best!
Ellen was warm and personable, keeping our interests at the forefront. In addition, she had a no-nonsense approach that was professional and straightforward. I appreciated her knowledge of her work and love of helping people manage their real estate. Ellen was prompt and dependable during the entire process from preparing the property for marketing to the closing. I would highly recommend her.
Ellen was great to work with from start to finish. She was able to quickly assess my husband and my needs and point us in the right directions for where to look in the market. She was readily available to show us the units and was honest and dependable. We were first time buyers and also new to the Boston area and she helped answer all of our questions. She also recommended a great contractor who has helped us with some small projects. 4 months later we love our home and are so grateful for Ellen's help!
Ellen and I worked together for more than a year. I had been looking on and off while trying to decide whether I was going to move to the west coast. I was also on a tight budget but looking for a lot of house (typically not found within that budget). On top of all of this - I was looking for a property with a type of charm that was difficult to explain but I knew it when I saw it. Ellen had tremendous patience, was always completely honest about her opinion on a property and went well above and beyond her duty when it came to helping me understand every part of the very complicated process of buying a house. With every thanks to Ellen I found a home that is far beyond what I was expecting to find. If and when I buy a second property - Ellen will be the first and only call I'll make.
When we sold our Somerville condominium, Ellen was always on top of the big issues, prioritizing and reminding us of what we needed to do next – and she did it all calmly and seamlessly. When it came down to the wire when negotiating our new house's price, she also got tough and secured a justifiable break on our final price. I can’t recommend Ellen enough.

As first time home buyers, we were very unfamiliar with the process of purchasing a home and Ellen was absolutely great. She was very responsive, and went above and beyond with great recommendations and advice throughout the entire process. She is straightforward, which we really appreciated.
I recently sold a property in Cambridge. The first day I interviewed Ellen I wasn’t sure whether I was going to hire her as my realtor. However, Ellen won me over. She sent me emails every week with pertinent information about the market. She called me every two weeks to check up on my decision and until I decided to sign up with her.
Since then, I have nothing but praise for Ellen. She drove me around town to find a new home even when I wasn’t sure where I wanted to live. She was on top of every little detail. Ultimately, because of Ellen, I sold my property for over asking price and all went well at closing. I would highly recommend Ellen to any serious buyer or seller.
Bought a Multi Family home in 2013 for approximately $375K in Watertown, MA.
Ellen bothered to form a relationship with me, her client. I was looking to buy a property with her. I believe that is the mark of a good realtor rather than someone who is just in it for the money. Since I was also trying a sell a property before buying, to her credit, she helped as much as she could with that part, which took some time and effort on Ellen's part. She tried to compensate for the fact that the realtor I had involved with selling was no good.As it happened the place I ended up buying happened very quickly and did not require much more effort from Ellen. However, to her credit, she did help through the difficult negotiating process and I was confident that she would not alienate the seller-something which less experienced realtors can do I think. I appreciated her professionalism and experience.

Go the extra mile for you? Engage Ellen Friedman. I first hired her as a rental agent while I was away on a volunteer job for several months. She found me good responsible renters -- even offered to take my cat when perspective renters were looking, in case they were allergic! A year later she was my seller agent and in the period of two days had not only placed my condo on the market but also had succeeded in obtaining all the multiple offers to agree to bid above asking price. Once the best offer was accepted, Ellen led me through the harrowing Purchase and Sale process and during the stress of selling and then buying in a new community, she used her superior negotiating skills, intelligence, and nurturing personality to support and guide me through the real estate twists and turns. After only one month of entrance to market to final sale, I am now the pleased owner of a new condo in a new neighborhood with money to spare. What more could you want from a real estate agent?
