Bought a home in 2007.
We got the feeling Evelyn only wanted a quick sale. We had a list of qualities we wanted in a home, but she was only interested in things that would show up in an MLS search (e.g., sq. ft. number of bedrooms, etc.) In other words, she didn't go the extra mile -- which I grant is extra.

However, when we identified a home we really wanted to see (and eventually bought), she tried to talk us out of viewing it because it was "difficult to show." This turned out to mean that the house was occupied and we had to arrange a time. This difficulty seemed to require only a phone call and setting up a time to view the home. The home owner eagerly accommodated us. We loved the house. We eventually bought the house, but not before negotiations broke down between Evelyn and the home owner's agent.

We were so disappointed when Evelyn told us the sale "couldn't happen" that I ended up calling the owner -- a kind woman -- personally. The home owner told me that Evelyn had insulted her by saying she "was out of her gourd." We were embarrassed. After a day of phone calls back and forth with the owners (who turned out to be very reasonable people) we agreed on a price and used Evelyn to close. Evelyn and her team handled the closing well. But we do not feel that we can recommend Evelyn as an agent.

The upshot is that I expect Evelyn and her team to be capable in handling a standard purchase. But of you want someone who is willing to invest their time, to go the extra mile it might take to find a house with the character (and not just the number of bedrooms) you want, or to work with the home owner, I'd go with someone else.

I will admit that this review surprised me when I saw it. This happened 5 years ago, so I don't remember this at all. Please feel free to contact me because I have never had a review like this before and woud vertianly like to discuss it with you.

Listed, but didn't sell my Single Family home in 2013 in Las Cruces, NM.
Find another agent. Evelyn Bruder failed to follow a Purchase Agreement for the sale of our home and ignored the 3 most important documents needed to safeguard our assets. The first was we were never made aware of or received a preliminary qualifying letter from the lender. The second was she never made sure the buyer had obtained homeowners insurance for the house. Thirdly, Evelyn Bruder did not seek the final loan approval letter from the lender, 10 days before closing, which is required in the purchase agreement. She thought it was all going to take care of itself. These 3 documents that were never obtained would have automatically terminated the purchase agreement as it was stated in the Purchase Agreement. Had Evelyn Bruder had been doing her job, then the deal would have been terminated, and we would not have moved all our belongings out of state. All the time she kept telling us everything was fine and on course and to make sure we were out of our house on the day of closing and to hand over the keys and have the house cleaned and ready for the new owners. We did everything she told us to do, but why she didn't even check for these 3 important documents are still a mystery. The only answers we are told is that they didn't qualify, the day before closing and sometimes these things happen. This is suposed to be finalized 10 days before closing by the final loan approval letter from the lender. With all her support staff in her "Dream Team" it makes no sense as to why this has happened. And does Evelyn Bruder take responsibilty for this? No, not at all.

All I can say is find a different agent from a different agency. Don't let this happen to you.

This was a very unusual circumstance in that the bank decided right before closing that they wouldn't grant the loan. First, the qualifying letter was received and the seller was notified of this. Second,there is a clause in the contract that stipulates that the buyer has so many days to get insurance and if they don't notify the sellers, then there is no problem. We weren't notified and so the insurance was in place. The seller did not seem to understand this clause and says he never received anything, but he wasn't supposed to receive a notification unless there was a problem. Third,as to the bank final letter, the bank said that all was OK and that it was in final underwriting. I followed along and believed what the bank told me and relayed that to the seller. I understand the frustration and anger of the seller, but could not do anything to correct the situation with the bank.

Evelyn know Las Cruces very well. She is very efficient in answering questions, calls,etc. Evelyn is very reliable and friendly. I enjoyed working with Evelyn and was very happy she was our realtor.

As a first time home buyer Evelyn was very helpful walking me through the entire home buying process. From showing me several houses to closing on the right one for me she was always quick to respond with any questions I had and offered great advice. I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking to buy a home.

Sold a Single Family home in 2013 in Las Cruces, NM.
Evelyn Bruder and her team helped with whatever we needed. Evelyn gave us good advice on getting our house ready to show, and gave us feedback on what people said who saw the house. She kept track of the paperwork and documents we needed and got everything done on time even when the lender failed to order the survey. Evelyn kept us informed of the progress of the buyer's loan and helped smooth the way on the requirements and questions the lender came up with. Because of Evelyn's work and responsiveness, we were able to sell our home in just 45 days although we had already moved out of state. Our gratitude to a fine realtor!

We came all the way from Fl and was only going to be there 2 days and she went out of her way to take us to see houses. Very Knowledgeable and helpful about the different laws pertaining to real Estate and NM.

Bought a home in 2009.
In our estimation, Evelyn's team is the best! Ron Bruder was our agent for the purchase our new home in Las Cruces, NM. Since we were still living on the west coast at the time, while our house was being built, Ron took care of all the details that we were unable to because of distance. He even e-mailed pictures every few weeks so we could see the build in progress! If we buy and/or sell again they will definitely be our one and only choice!

Evelyn sold me my home when I first moved to Las Cruces in 2001. As a buyer I found her to be most knowledgeable about both the community and the real estate market. Once I had made my offer she was fantastic with assisting me in all aspects of the closing. Later when I decided to sell my home, I listed with Evelyn. Despite being in a down market, she provided invaluable knowledge and assistance in pricing and marketing my home. She is particularly outstanding in knowing how to market homes via the internet. Whenever I would search for homes in Las Cruces, my home would always be in the top five hits. Evelyn has also sold homes to individuals I suggested contact her. All have been greatly pleased.
