Sold a Single Family home in 2012 in Silver Lake, Los Angeles, CA.

I've used Chris numerous times to buy and sell property and he is the best! Very honest, organized, communicative and efficient. As a small business it is obvious that he cares about his clients and wants them to be satisfied rather than just chasing a commission. I cannot recommend him highly enough.  More Less

Sold a home in 2005.

Chris Furstenberg is honest, amiable, easy going, and persistent. I have no qualms about recommending him as a person. He is a genuinely nice fellow. However, even at the blistering height of the market he was unable to get us our asking prices, much less over asking. We bought and sold four properties through Chris and his brother Richard during 2002-2006. He seemed more interested in giving the buyer everything they asked for and more, and closing the escrow. He argued in favor of one request by a client for "an additional $1,000.00 credit for future problems." This of a house which was exceptionally well done. His explanation: he didn't think it was worth it to quibble over an additional thousand dollars and "sink an escrow." We acquiesced. My bad for staying loyal to Chris. We sold our last house through another agency and were able to get asking plus. And this was when the market was collapsing.  More Less

My reputation speaks for itself and I have no problem replying to this "review." The properties I sold for you were in 04,05,& 06. The 06 duplex during the "blistering height of the market" had a qualified tenant under rent control, 20+ yrs of stuff. The new owner had to evict her, and pay relocation. Only 1/2 of the property was modestly remodeled. That is the real reason on why you did not get your full price. However, you forgot to mention that you received 188k over what you purchased the property for a year prior. As for this $1,000 credit. It was granted because the work was not exceptional. Venting something on a public site 8 years later and trying to hurt my reputation seems very unfair, especially after I helped you gain a lot of money in profit. I worked very hard to get you the best price possible and I even reduced my commission. The last house you sold was in a prime area of one of the hottest zip codes. Be thankful on how you acquired that property. I wish you well.
