Sent An Email Re Interest In a Property, Received Zero Follow Up

I work with Velma, and I can tell you that is NOT characteristic of her.  If you didn't get a response, there is a strong possibility that she did not receive your original email.

Local Property Taxes ,

As your home valuation keeps going up, your property taxes will rise with it as they are based on a percentage of your home's tax assessed value. You can fill out a form to protest your tax assessed value when you receive your new tax assesment.  However, by state law in Texas, the tax office has to use comps from the previous calendar year, not going back 6 months like on a lender appraisal.Regardless of what the market is currently doing in your neighborhood, it only matters what sold comps were out there last calendar year when you go to protest your home's valuation. You might also verify that the tax office has the correct measurement of your home.  If they have it listed with more square footage than it actually has, that will increase your valuation. Finally, ask them to make sure they have it classified correctly.  I had a listing a few years ago that was classified wrong, and that over-inflated the tax assessed value by thousands of dollars.

What is the best month to sell a house?

In our market in Lubbock, typically the most active real estate months are March - July.  Due to our limited inventory of good, updated homes, right now may be a great time to sell. The most accurate answer is that it depends on where you live.  There are many considerations that factor into when the best time is to put YOUR home on the market.Neighborhood, price range & the time-frame you have that you need to be out of a house are just a few of the important criteria you need to consider for the best time to put your home on the market. If you would like help in determining what is the best time for you, feel free to call or email me.  I'll be happy to help you assess your situation with no obligation or charge.
