Leonard Wallace moved to Greenbelt in 1977. He graduated from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in 1980 and attended Capitol College working toward a degree in Electrical Engineering.

In 1985, he obtained became a licensed real estate agent and joined Nyman Realty at the location now occupied by Domino's Pizza in Greenbelt. In 1986, he obtained his real estate broker's license and founded Realty 1, Inc. to specialize in selling homes in Greenbelt.
The office was originally located in the old barber shop space, now occupied by Beijing of Greenbelt.

In 1989, the office moved to its current location at 109-B Centerway in Greenbelt. Original Greenbelters will remember it as Ben Franklin's 5-10.
