IMHO, we have slowed down in population growth and should soon see the eventual negative growth. Looking at coming facts like children today will not outlive their parents and the proposed solutions to "help" the enviornment, we will see a drastic reduction in numbers within the next 10 years. Take in to account emerging diseases. More and more, people are coming here less. I do not see E.D. ever being justified, that is not Democracy, especially if it is based on what some people think should be done over what the wishes of the owner.
Anthony Kimbrough - American Homes & Realty in White Pine, TN. Higher priced properties have slowed a little but are still moving. Lesser prices property is still moving quite fast. Then again, it did not overinflate here as with other places. While it is not quite as good as last year, it is still fast enough to do 12-16 hour days 7 days a week if one wants to. I am wore out.
In cities that might work, but those of us in rural areas, it will not work. Then trucking in addition would suffer and farming as well. When I say trucking and farming, I'm actually saying the consumer will suffer. Taxing fuel is one of the worse things thought out, but we do drive more than we should. That means small business going out of business, small farms (already becoming extinct), which will ultimately lead to corporations in replacement. In the process of small business being crushed, so will the consumer's wallets for products, not just luxuries, but necessities like food, clothing etc. Then comes to mind, people want stuff now. Food is sold in smaller packages. Imagine going to the store for medicine, food, clothing and finding out the next delivery will be in a month. In reality, that is the way it was when people first got cars. Self reliance was before cars, which people could not do these days as a whole. A higher tax on fuel would effect only the poor and middle class, the wealthy would not feel it, maybe ever write it off as an expense. Already America holds the largest division between rich and working people. What about electric cars that need pulgged in? They would be generating even greater pollution via coal and nucleur power plants. Coal burning is the 2nd leading cause for Mercury release, exceeded only by Volcano eruptions, and follwed by the new CFL bulbs. Ever researched the effects of Mercury on the body?
I'm not sure about your MLS but ours will show the house expired and listed too, so people will know. Talk with your Realtor to see what and how it is advertised, maybe something might be changed, maybe not. Research the local market and see if the market is slow in your area, which prices are slow and which aren't. Chances are, IMHO, it isn't the DOM that hurts you. When the right person sees the right house, priced right, it sells. How many times it shows doesn't really mean anything if people are just window shopping. Relisting at a higher price when it did not generate interest at a lower price is bad, either new agent or old agent, it all shows up.
I have always had a home with a septic system, public sewer would be ok, but then again, I don't like higher taxes either. Do I find it funny that my septic goes into the lines and is absorbed by the ground, then on the opposite side of house, my well, no. I find that no more weird than cities pumping chemical laden water into the lake or river, then pumping it back for people to drink. If that is what people like they should stay in the cities, and we wonder why people get sick. On a septic system you learn to care about what you are using. What you flush will determine how long your tank will be good before flushing. You become either responsible or pay until you do. The well is always located opposite from the septic, or at least it should be. Even brands of toliet paper. I can not drink city water, it is horrible. Wells (get a sump pump) are great, nothing like pure, clean, chemical free water. Not to mention showering, no water vapors inhaled from chemical nature like chlorine and flouride. Don't skimp on the well, our is 150 foot down.
While there are changes that come and will come. Remember these few things. Problem, Reaction, Solution. 1st we have a problem, either real or precieved. 2nd we have a reaction (pre determined) 3 Then a solution is presented (pre formatted). There are always possibilites and maybe even probabilities in so cases. We got 2 choices 1- Enjoy what we have here and now. 2- Stop living and be afraid. PS, The Myan Calendar only says that things will end as we know them, it could just as easily be a new beginning. Nothing is said about ending of time, just that time will change.
Getting estimates this week...key things to ask?
