Sold a Single Family home in 2011 for approximately $250K in Spokane, WA.

Summary:

Bad Comps. We had 2 houses for sale in our neighborhood he did not give one house off of our street. One house was for 310,000 and the other is 290,0000. He put our house up at 259,000 and it was newer and better quality( granite, bamboo floors) than the one for 310,000.

Steve didn't negotiate the deal for the seller. 2 weeks into the sale, we got our first offer 14,000 off our selling price. When Steve presented the offer, he said not to ask or negotiate the deal or ask for anything and just to completely agree to all the terms from the buyers. We did, Then the buyers asked for our personal property (stand alone fireplace) valued at $1200. for free, we asked for them to pay $500 at least. The buyers refused, and Steve said to not lose the buyers because of $500. and just to give it to them.

When we got the inspection report back to fix minor details, we refused because we already lowered the price by $14,000!! This is the time that Steve went behind our back and made a secret deal with the buyer's agent to pay for all the repairs from their salaries. We had no knowledge of this so we were suspicious when he said he wanted to call in contractors before closing. We didn't feel comfortable having contractors doing work before closing because if the deal falls through, we would have to be stuck with the bill. That is when we finally put our foot down and said to close the deal and then do what you want.

After the transaction, we didn't hear from him and didn't try to remedy the situation, or give a gift after the transaction.…More Less
