Bill McKeon began his real estate career in Marin County in 1977 at a small office in downtown Mill Valley. These 31 years include 22 years of owning/managing his own office, managing for Frank Howard Allen Realtors, McGuire Marin Real Estate.
To increase awareness of new property coming on the market among his associates, Bill holds a monthly networking session called the Buy/Sell. He spearheaded this and has been facilitating it for over 10 years. Agents throughout Marin are invited to send information about their properties which are downloaded into a Power Point presentation. At the meeting agents have an opportunity to speak about their new listings while the agent audience views it on the screen. “We have had buyers find some significant properties through this effort. The most memorable one was for a sale of $23,000,000 in Tiburon,” recalls Bill.
Bill believes in keeping on top of market trends and ongoing changes in real estate. He is a GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), and has received numerous awards such as Realtor of the Year- Marin Assn of Realtors, Circle of Excellence Award - National Assn of Professional Saleswomen, Best Real Estate Agent in Marin – Marin Independent Journal.
He has served on and chaired most of the committees at the Marin Association of Realtors (MAR) and has been an officer/director for both the Marin and California Association of Realtors. He currently serves on the Professional Standards Committee for MAR and chairs the Regional Disclosure Task Force.
Being community minded, Bill has also served on several non-profit Boards including the Mill Valley Soccer Club, President 1986; College of Marin Advisory Committee, Chair 1986; Marin Community Food Bank, President 1990. He is currently a Board Director for SingersMarin.
A third-generation San Franciscan, Bill moved to Marin with his wife, Sharon, in 1970 where they raised their family. Bill is now proud and happy to add the role of grand-parenting along with being a respected real estate professional.
