I used Zillow to send out an email expressing interest in seeing a property, which went to several Zillow agents. Jim contacted me just a few minutes later by phone to offer his help. No matter how far or how run down, Jim was always ready to schedule a showing and drive to meet us. He always gave us comparables information on our places of interest, and unbiased answers to our questions - not to mention some helpful, unsolicited tidbits from being in the house business for a while. We never felt pressured, and felt like there was genuine concern to help us, always staying very professional. We loved that there was NONE of the snottiness we've too often come across in this business! So local knowledge was not perfect - that's because I picked them at random, and most of the houses I wanted were way out of their usual areas of work. But they were honest about not knowing the area, which was fine by me since I do lots of research on my own. When we found the place we knew was for us, he patiently helped our way through the negotiation and paperwork. As first time homebuyers buying a foreclosure, we just placed our trust his advice. Like all newbies we couldn't help but wonder if there could have been a bit more negotiating. Well, we'll never know (who could really?) but we are NOT sorry since in the end, we got the house we wanted and it was a great deal, which was starting to garner a lot of interest!
