I am quite pleased with Jon's performance on our loan. He locked a great interest rate for us and even extended the lock when it expired due to a late subordination document. Because he is a mortgage banker, you don't get the fees that mortgage brokers charge to up their income.
We did the whole loan via email- never met Jon in person!
Would highly recommend Jon and hope to use him again for any loans we need to make.
He's knowledgeable, capable and calm. What more could you ask for? Good luck!

Jon is great and I highly recommend him. This is my best mortgage experience of many. This was a refi from variable to fixed. He's knowledgable, accurate, efficient, very responsive, and available for questions by email or telephone. His good faith estimate was very accurate. This Zillow service is outstanding.

Jon was great to work with. He quickly responded via email to any questions we had and kept us updated throughout the process. (The one time I did call him on the phone, he answered right away.) We locked in a great rate and closed on time. Our refi experience with Jon was painless. I would highly recommend him.

I'm in the middle of a refi with Jon right now. He was incredibly responsive... was one of the first quotes I received and when I emailed him to modify some requirements, he got back to me right away and was incredibly thorough. Like other reviewers, I also prefer working through email as opposed to phone, and this seems to work great w/ Jon. I've asked him questions on the order of... can you give me the rates with different point levels, can you re-quote this with max principal out and min principal out, can I pay the pre-paids vs. having them escrowed... and his answers have been prompt and thorough.

His rates, from what I can tell, are pretty darn good. I haven't found a better rate/point combo with any other lender. No high pressure sales whatsoever. He is truly providing great rates and information and letting the buyer make a decision.

I just started with him a week ago and because of the snow, haven't been able to fax or email any forms in yet, but we've continued to work through the process anyway. I'm very confident (knock on wood) that the whole process will go smoothly and will re-post once I'm done.

I was very impressed with Jon's quick reply and his responses to my follow-up questions. I absolutely would have gone with Jon except I already have my mortgage through Wells Fargo and an existing relationship with a mortgage broker; this initial investigation has lead me to a very benefitial refinance for my family. I was just trying out this service based on recommendation from some co-workers and was very delighted to see the options/offers and find this to be a very empowering tool for the consumer. Thanks. I would definitely recommend Jon and the Zillow mortgage tool.

Jon worked with me on a difficult deal - purchasing a "short sale" with two lienholders who set a tight deadline. Jon helped make the deal possible within the deadline. Highly recommended.

I asked for a quote on a loan with no prepayment penalty and with a fixed rate. what I got was a variable rate with a prepayment penalty. Did he even read the criteria?

It was great working with Jon. He gave us the best rate right the beginning within a couple of days of our contract. This helped us lock a rate with him. He didn't try to convince me at all, I liked the no pressure approach. Other lenders kept pushing me for a committment on phone but wouldn't come up with a better rate. Locking this rate helped us a lot since the rate skyrocketed after that. Jon was very responsive. I prefer email and that worked well for both of us. I was very concerned about paying mortgage insurance since I couldn't put down 20% and didn't want to borrow downpayment. Jon is the only lender who told me of the rule that MI can be eliminated after 22% principle is paid off. If other lenders had told me that earlier, it would have greatly helped me do my math and direct my calculations in the right direction.
Overall, a sensible mature individual who knows and communicates the mortgage process correctly. Not a salesman trying to constantly sell me stuff. I really appreciated that.
