We met John on our visit to see a listed home. We liked interacting with him very much even in the brief period. We were first time homebuyers and had a tons of questions and were not even very certain about buying a home right away. After talking to a few other agents we decided that John was the most likeable. He was very accessible (both as a person and easy to get in touch with). We also read online reviews and gathered a very consistent image across our minds. He was very patient with our questions and most importantly very thorough with all the fine details of contracts, process and other things. And believe me I had a LOT of questions. But it never seemed to me that he was even slightly impatient with answering them. When he sat us down for our first purchase offer going though the documents each individual point and explaining it in detail and I took almost 2 hours (instead of 1) because I had a lot of questions. I was hugely impressed that he did not flinch once through the entire session and gave me as much detail as I wanted and also indulged me in more than a few hypothetical scenarios. And all his answers also about minute details were very satisfactory to me that showed me that he was a very detail oriented person himself, something I hugely appreciate due to previous frustrations with insurance agents and other services. He is very experienced in the whole deal and his experience was very helpful directly for first time buyers that we were. For instance he pointed out some issues in some homes that couldn’t be noticed by our untrained eyes (e.g. Bad DIY fixes, old/leaking windows, appliance issues) etc. He wasn't even slightly pushy, only offered very nuanced advice when asked for. E.g. when asked for advice between two houses he never said a house is better than other, but he presented very nuanced view of facts that made each of the house attractive in their own way, but also helped you make a decision. One instance I remember well was when we were tied between buying low priced smaller homes vs little more expensive bigger homes and looked at him for advice. He answered it with a question, he said “think of a home you want to buy and imagine if you guys will be happy in that home in 5,10,20 yrs?”. That gave us a good direction. I find all the above invaluable qualities in a person that is helping you make a big decision. In short he is a personable, sensitive, thorough and accessible realty expert that facilitates the entire process with plenty of details but lets you drive. Period.
