We met John on our visit to see a listed home. We liked interacting with him very much even in the brief period. We were first time homebuyers and had a tons of questions and were not even very certain about buying a home right away.
After talking to a few other agents we decided that John was the most likeable. He was very accessible (both as a person and easy to get in touch with). We also read online reviews and gathered a very consistent image across our minds.
He was very patient with our questions and most importantly very thorough with all the fine details of contracts, process and other things. And believe me I had a LOT of questions. But it never seemed to me that he was even slightly impatient with answering them. When he sat us down for our first purchase offer going though the documents each individual point and explaining it in detail and I took almost 2 hours (instead of 1) because I had a lot of questions. I was hugely impressed that he did not flinch once through the entire session and gave me as much detail as I wanted and also indulged me in more than a few hypothetical scenarios. And all his answers also about minute details were very satisfactory to me that showed me that he was a very detail oriented person himself, something I hugely appreciate due to previous frustrations with insurance agents and other services.
He is very experienced in the whole deal and his experience was very helpful directly for first time buyers that we were. For instance he pointed out some issues in some homes that couldn’t be noticed by our untrained eyes (e.g. Bad DIY fixes, old/leaking windows, appliance issues) etc. He wasn't even slightly pushy, only offered very nuanced advice when asked for. E.g. when asked for advice between two houses he never said a house is better than other, but he presented very nuanced view of facts that made each of the house attractive in their own way, but also helped you make a decision. One instance I remember well was when we were tied between buying low priced smaller homes vs little more expensive bigger homes and looked at him for advice. He answered it with a question, he said “think of a home you want to buy and imagine if you guys will be happy in that home in 5,10,20 yrs?”. That gave us a good direction. I find all the above invaluable qualities in a person that is helping you make a big decision.
In short he is a personable, sensitive, thorough and accessible realty expert that facilitates the entire process with plenty of details but lets you drive. Period.

My wife and I recently bought our first home and John was our realtor. He was great throughout the entire process. In the beginning he met with us and laid out the entire process in a very clear manner and gave us a list of the steps to complete. This was very helpful as we had no experience and needed the guidance. Throughout the process he told us what things we should be focusing on completing which removed the feeling of being overwhelmed. He showed us many houses and was very helpful in analyzing the pros and cons of each house. From the point of making an offer on a house to settlement John was very knowledgably and worked to get us the best deal possible. He also provided good recommendations on inspectors, title companies, etc. We highly recommend John.
I am enjoying working with Mr. Koenig to find my dream house. He listens
very well, so the houses he showed me were exactly what I had in mind and have more than met my expectations. He is very knowledgeable and makes the whole process of buying and showing houses fun, interesting and easy. I highly recommend him as an agent.

We were buying a house from long distance and were worried if that would work out. John Koenig quickly allayed our anxieties! He previewed many homes in advance of a weekend house hunting trip, using the criteria we gave him. And - it was successful! We found a beautiful home. John has a calm and optimistic personality, which was a perfect match for us as nervous first-time home buyers. He is a genuine and trustworthy person, no snake oil here. :) We highly recommend John.

Looking to buy your first house is daunting, stressful, and could leave you feeling queasy wondering if you're making the right choices, unless you're working with John. Not only was looking for our first house a relatively painless experience, but the process of purchasing the house went far more smoothly than I could have ever expected. John provided a plethora of information, pointed out things we may not have noticed otherwise, and helped us find a beautiful house that I am still in love with. With his experience, we managed to be the winning bid on a fantastic home and we could not be happier with the final result.

John was instrumental in helping our family purchase our first home, and he definitely made the buying process much simpler and in many ways delightful. His over twenty years of experience are evident when talking with him about all of the aspects of buying a home. He answered anything we asked from local information, options for purchasing something with more confidence, alternative things to ask from a seller, negotiation (price and post-inspection), and all of the individual pieces of information needed to close and complete necessary paperwork at closing. If there was an issue with any part of a home, John would have a favorable suggestion on how to easily have something fixed or warrantied, and he did a great job of making himself available at times suitable for us to look at homes. We can't imagine having gone through the process without the expertise and help of John and would definitely recommend him to anyone on the market for a home.

John was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and professional in helping me purchase my first home. He made the process easy and stress-free, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking to buy a home. He was honest, patient and upfront, and after I found a home to purchase, he was able to recommend great people to redo the floors as well as move all of my furniture to my new residence for a reasonable price. Overall, if you are lucky enough to have John as your Real Estate Agent, you are sure to have a great experience.

John is the best realtor we have ever worked with, and I worked in the real estate industry for a couple of years, so I have met a lot of them. He was patient, reliable, and willing to commit the time to lots of house-searching. He operates solo, so you only have one point of contact, which is convenient. I was always able to reach him when I needed to.
