Is it worth losing a bedroom to expand the bathroom and make a walk-in closet

Answer
Thing is you have to be comfortable living in the house if it has 2 bedrooms or 3. I fit is not working outfor you it probably wouldn't for someone else either.I had a small home that was 3 bedroom but had the laundry in the basement (outside entrance) I didn'thave any problem with loosing a bedroom for an in house laundry. It is marketed as a 2 bedroom as has no trouble the the rental dept. and gets buy offers all the time.It would be nice to find a house that works for you and buy that one...but many people just don't have the option to do that.Wish you luck in what ever you decide , make the house work for you.-Joseph-

Can you put a mobile/manufactured home on purchased land in MA?

Answer
That is something you would have to check with the exact area you are wishing to do the work on.I have seen the situations change from one curve to another around here...in those type areas. Many offer only stick builds allowed, an zones change quickly.Usually a stick build is allowed anywhere, just be aware of rules governing how close you are ableto build to your property lines.I would start with the local county clerks office or housing dept. if there is one a check on that specificarea.-Joseph-

Roanoke, VA-can I count finished basement as bedroom?

Answer
In most areas in the US bedrooms in down stairs basements have to have a certain sized window in a'bedroom' this sized is determined according to the sq. footage of the room itself. There has to be a separate entrance as well, and some may require the windows to be egress... that would mean that you have to be able to use the window for a emergency exit. Some places also want  closet in the room. These things can vary greatly depending on your area, it is something I suppose you could call yourlocal building department about and get the specs. on.-Joseph-

Whole House Demo Stucco & Redo with Wood Siding

Answer
In L.A. ? I would say you will get estimations higher than that. A job like that is about 3/4 labor, taxes, fuel costs. disposal fees, permit fees, and probably operation costs...  the rest is materials and the installation.-Joseph-

Does getting a ceramic tile in my complete house will increase the cost of the house in Phoenix,AZ?

Answer
The ceramic tile in certain rooms is an upgrade and considered higher end than the other materialsthat you mentioned.Hardwood is an probably always will be more desirable in the main floors and bedrooms.Tile in the kitchen and baths. As far as making your home worth more...it could but a finished product is what most will see when theyview the house.I don't think buyers will add the cost that you will pay to have it installed to the amountthey are willing to pay.-Joseph-

Do you feel there is value in homes that have been preinspected before going on the market?

Answer
As a buyer I it would make me feel a little better about the house but I would still have to have my own inspection done because It would also cause me to wonder why it was done prior to beingplaced on the market.Maybe the seller only wanted to know what they should fix before placing it up for sale...maybethey were just using a friend to make their home more marketable....Its a trust issue, Its like going to court with one person having a lawyer and the other not. Each person ( buyer / purchaser ) needs to have their inspections done for their own reasons. It keeps the 'field' equal for both parties.I would be less worried about it but would I automatically just say 'this house must be better' ... no.-Joseph-

What type of cushions must I use under my carpets?

Answer
I used to sub. work for a flooring company (tile) but had a friend who installed the carpet. He said the padding that you use under the carpet is the life of the carpet...so don't scrimp on thepadding if you're laying a good quality carpet.-Joseph-

do you have to repaint to neutral color in order to sell your home

Answer
Earth tones to me are the best, you can still have color with a mild look that go well with white trimsand black appliances or black entertainment options.Beige maybe the normal selling tactic but color can be added with the mild green/greys and grey/greens.They also go well with many ceramic floor and hardwood options.-Joseph-
