Kathy seemed nice, but told us she would not be able to help us because our price point was too low. I even told her we are cash buyers, but that didn't matter. We've moved all over the U.S. with the Air Force and we've never been told that by a realtor before. I hope this type of bias is not common in our new city.

We were first-time home-buyers, entirely new to the process. We were expecting our second child, and had a list of very specific needs (3 BRM, hardwood floors, big backyard, workshop, etc). A friend had recommended Kathy to us. She called me within 5 minutes after I first emailed her,and got to working on finding our house immediately. She offered us expert guidance the entire way. She was phenomenal throughout the entire process, communicated regularly with our sellers' agent, helped us locate inspection professionals, guided us through the due diligence process, explained legal paperwork, etc. She is a formidable researcher, knows the market, knows the area. We met Kathy Kane in the spring of 2006 when looking for a house to use as a rental property. Kathy's in-depth knowledge of the Ashevill real estate market and local builders (she built a house herself, by the way) helped us buy the "perfect" home in the mountains. We listed the property with Kathy and sold it in 2011. However, Kathy's services did not just begin and end with these buy and sell transactions. During the period that the house was rented out, Kathy provided me with valuable connections with her network of local business contacts (plumbers, electricians, landscaping and other services) that allowed me to manage the property while I lived out of the state. I also know that she "kept and eye on it" from time to time. When we finally decided to sell the property, Kathy had good recommendations on what to do to make it as attactive as possible while taking into account my financial limitations at the time. She negotiated the deal that finally sold the house, and her knowledge of the R/E market (and some of her fellow agents) proved to be invaluable. This was a very difficult sale with Kathy representing the seller. It was an 11,000 sq foot property on 10 acres which I had run as a bed and breakfrast. It could have been a commercial sale; it could have been a residential sale. And to make it more difficult I was divorced during the process. It was clear that this was not Kathy's first rodeo.
