I believe I've covered it above in the experience section above.
Ken is very easy to work with. He was receptive to my ideas, and wiling to strike a balance where we had not originally seen eye to eye.
I engaged Ken to re-design my den, which was to include a bar service area, a piano bar seating area, storage cabinets, fireplace, new flat screen & sophisticated surround sound system, not only for TV, but for music as well and new furniture. Overall I was very pleased with how the re-designed room turned out. I was pleased with both the vendors he selected and the materials used, including the additional accent lighting installed. His approach is both down to earth and for an experienced designer, showed very little of that annoying "attitude" you sometimes encounter with others.
We purchased furniture, picked out material for wall coverings, and unique one of a kind
objet's d'art. He paid close attention to our budget, and we found him easy to be with in our home and out in the market place.
We have worked with Ken a number of times in New Jersey. We called on him when we bought our first house and we needed lots of furniture, carpet and wallpaper. He was extremely helpful, when years later, we sold that home and bought a condo 15 miles away. He helped us decide what to keep and had good ideas on new
pieces which made everything look brand new.
We also called on him to help us furnish 2 condo's in Florida. That look was totally different, light and bright, and we loved everything he suggested.
Redecoration of existing home using items already on site and incorporating with new items.
When Ken Solomon came to our home for our first meeting my husband and I discussed our vision of what we wanted with him. He listened, took some pictures of what was here, what was staying and what we wanted to get rid of. We wanted very strong colors and Ken fulfilled our vision. At our second meeting he brought fabric samples and pictures of items we might like. We loved all of the fabrics and didn't change any if them. There were choices as to the furniture and Ken told us to meet him at the D'Cota, our design center in south Florida, to see, feel and sit on the various pieces under consideration. We made our selections and placed .
All of the support people Ken brought in were wonderful, from the drapery and window shade person to the electrician, the tv installer, and the art hanger (yes, there is such a person). He also was amenable to our using a painter whom we had previously used.
Of course we spent more than we originally budgeted, but we knew we would. We are loving our "new" home.
Home design projects, interior reconstruction, cabinet building, carpeting, painting, window treatments, lighting, electronics and fabrics including color co ordination.
For boating he provided complete interior design including selection of fabrics and materials.
We have been using Ken for over 30 years. We have redecorated our home several times with him as well as our second home in Florida. He has also just finished our latest project which is the interior design of our new boat. His ideas and work has been impeccable and I would highly recommend him. I love the way he co ordinates all the contractors.
Ken Solomon has been involved in every home we've lived in, from Long Island to Florida. He is a talented colorist, and he always encouraged us to make us of the pieces we already owned, rather than unnecessarily buying new things. In addition, he took the time to learn about our lifestyle before he presented his plans.
It is always a pleasure to recommend a professional for a project that needs to be done professionally.
