I would like to commend Kenny MacCarthy for his services as the Real Estate Agent for the sale of my mother's house. It involved a house in need of repair, a vacant lot, and a paper street. Not an easy situation. Kenny was able to attract a number of buyers. He kept me informed throughout the process. During the two weeks before the 'closing date' a number of 'snags' arose. None due to him. For each 'snag' he was able to come up with a solution. In addition, at the very last moment, I found out that I needed six notarized signatures (from my siblings). Since he is a Notary, he accompanied me to their homes or work place for the notarization. The process was able to be accomplished in 24 hours.
I feel that Kenny went above and beyond in services as a real estate agent to get a number of 'bidders' and to follow through on the details that resulted in a fair sale to both the buyer and the seller.
I am my family have had the good fortune to retain Kenny MacCarthy a half-dozen times in the past 20 years for buying and selling. He is experienced, knows the ropes, is an excellent communicator. knows how to use all the electronic tools, juggles details really well and takes a lot of the burden off the customer. I'm guessing he has a lot of returning clients.
Kenny helped us buy a small apartment in Rockport in less than three weeks. He advised on the right price and negotiated final details of the renovation; guided us through the many paces of the purchase; found us a wonderful lawyer; and continues to assist us as new Cape Ann homeowners.
Kenny was attentive, responsive, proactive in guiding us out-of-town buyers through local processes. Our purchase closed faster than we could ever have imagined, I would recommend him enthusiastically and without qualification.
I loved working with Kenny. He has a lot of experience and is honest about the property and market. I always knew that he was giving me the straight answer. And he sold our house at a great price. He also gives consistent updates about showings and other details.I highly recommend Kenny!
Kenny MacCarthy helped me through a very difficult sale of my property. He faced and solved every obstacle I faced and kept me informed of everything he tended to.
He was knowledgeable, honest, professional and compassionate.
I would highly recommend him.
Kenny has the best knowledge of Cape Ann real estate and does a masterful job of communicating it and educating his clients. Fun to work with, but never fails to honestly give you his assessment of properties, good or bad. We worked with him for a rental from several states away, and the video recording that he did for us saved us a lot of time, effort and expense. He's the best!
Sold a Multi Family home in 2013 for approximately $425K in Gloucester, MA.
Kenny is extremely knowledgeable about the housing market and very savvy about marketing techniques. We had a unique type of property to sell. Kenny really understood the profile of the potential buyer that our property would appeal to and targeted his marketing to it. Ideas like staging the property really made a big difference. ( We were not fans of this as personally we always like to see a property empty but okay he was right! ) He struck a good balance of getting the property sold and meeting our needs. We felt like he always represented our best interest. He is professional, calm, helpful and has very good instincts about the real estate business.
Sold a Multi Family home in 2013 for approximately $575K in Gloucester, MA.
Kenny was the sellers agent, while I was a first time home buyer. If I ever sell my house, I will get in touch with Kenny M.
Kenny gets to the point and strives to be a man of his word. Kenny is direct, but still has a good set of diplomacy skills when necessary. You would want him on your team. Kenny was not a "hand holder". He sells a house efficiently and keeps things simple. I liked that.
Showed home in 2013 in Riverview, Gloucester, MA 01930.
My wife and I are using Kenny MacCarthy as a buyer's agent as we look for homes in Gloucester. We are impressed with his knowledge of the local housing market and his low-key manner. We strongly feel that he is working for us, rather than for "the deal". Our past experience with real estate agents is that most of them are working to get you into a deal, but not necessarily the right deal for you. Kenny MacCarthy actually told us NOT to buy a house that we were very interested in, and then told us why. That's what we mean by he's working for us, not just for a deal.
He has a great sense of humor, is patient and responsive. He also demonstrated some seriously ethical behavior when we were interested in looking at one of his own listings, going so far as to tell us that if we were interested in the property, he would prefer to see another agent represent us rather than try to represent both sides of his own deal. Many agents will not do this and only see dollar signs.
