Sold a home in 2013 in Hayes Valley, San Francisco, CA 94117.
I am pleased to recommend Laura and her partner Vicki to anyone wanting highly competent and knowledgeable real estate professionals. Laura and Vicki are top-flight when it comes to knowledge of the market and marketing strategies. They were easy to work with and exceeded our expectations with respect to scheduling and coordinating the myriad details required to market and close the sale.
Sold a Single Family home in 2013 for approximately $1.4M in Forest Hill Extension, San Francisco, CA.
I can't say enough great things about our Realtor, Laura Kaufman - she is a very experienced, knowledgeable, organized and patient real estate agent. Laura listed our house in San Francisco and was very professional from the beginning. She selected a listing price which ended up working out wonderfully as it sold significantly over asking. She outlined what we needed to do by when, the associated costs and was always willing to do any of the items herself, i.e. babysit any of our 3 kids, wait for a handyman or inspector, etc. And during the process, Laura was extremely calm and flexible especially since our house and life were in flux. She communicated throughout the process so I never felt like I was in the dark or didn't know what was happening at any point during the selling process.
She did an amazing marketing job - she promoted our house at multiple brokers tours, on the cover of the San Francisco Examiner, via social media, friends and other realtors.
With all the work she did as our Realtor, we ended up with 22 offers and by the time we reviewed them, she had already negotiated with the buyers' agents on terms before presenting the top 3 to us. That process was very smooth and basically stress free.
Furthermore, as a real estate agent goes, Laura has a great referral network and had names of experienced people for whatever we needed and she followed up with everyone of them to ensure the work was done professionally and in a timely fashion. She is the best Realtor out there and one couldn't ask for a better real estate agent. I would definitely use Laura again as a real estate agent.
Sold a Single Family home in 2012 for approximately $825K in Potrero Hill, San Francisco, CA.
Laura is the most responsive professional I have ever encountered. Her quick response times alleviated much of the potential stress that can come with real estate transactions. I liked and felt comfortable with Laura from the very beginning, starting with her inviting and informative website. There she explains exactly how she will work with you as either a buyer or seller.
Laura is knowledgeable, sharp, efficient and caring. As a first time and out-of-state seller, she handled every aspect on the ground in San Francisco for me with care, timeliness and constant communication. She kept me up-to-date on the property with photos and video and provided timelines for action. We managed documentation electronically. Dealing with the complexities of selling a tenant-occupied property in San Francisco, she enlisted top notch real estate [Zephyr] and legal advice before we took steps forward. She was the ultimate diplomat in working with the tenants to arrange property inspections and showings.
Not only was I impressed with Laura's knowledge, skill, and tireless effort, but was appreciative of her careful explanations to assure my understanding through each step of the selling process. She would educate me, make recommendations at my request and help me through tough decisions.
Laura is professional, friendly and exceedingly well organized. I had complete confidence in her as my agent. I have only praise for her qualities and skills and highly recommend her!
Bought a Single Family home in 2010 for approximately $800K in Mission Terrace, San Francisco, CA.
My husband worked with Laura to purchase a condo in SOMA several years ago. He was impressed with her flexibility and knowledge of several neighborhoods in San Francisco. We reached out to Laura once we decided to begin looking for a single family home in San Francisco and she was incredibly patient with us, accompanied us to open houses and guided us through the process of looking for the perfect home. Furthermore, she's responsive and attentive to answer every call or e-mail quickly. We found the perfect home in the Mission Terrace/Glen Park border and moved quickly to purchase it. Laura was very easy to work with, particularly as I was new to the entire process, and guided us through every step along the way by providing her valuable opinion. We highly recommend Laura to any new home buyer or any family looking to expand their space.
Bought a Multi Family home in 2012 in Yerba Buena, San Francisco, CA.
Laura is amazing. I was a first-time home buyer and was looking for an agent that would really take the time to hold my hand and guide me through this entire process. I talked to several agents - even some referrals - before I found Laura on Yelp and am so grateful I found her!
She spent the time to really get to know me and what I was looking for. We submitted a few offers before finally getting my dream place. The only reason I got the place I'm in now is because Laura was quick and aggressive on my behalf. She had an appointment for me to see the place within hours of it going on the market and an offer in that night. She provided me with solid intel and advice throughout the process, pointed out potential issues I should consider, etc.
Throughout the process I always knew she had my best interests in mind. She genuinely wanted to help me find my dream place - and she did! I would highly recommend her and am sure I'll work with her again when the time comes.

I worked with another agent before I met Laura, and what a difference it is! Laura is extremely knowledgeable, patient, but most importantly provides you with all the information so *you* can make your own decision. She is also *extremely* responsive (she makes you feel like you are the most important client), and I never have to worry that I'd miss out on anything. After working with her, I've already seen multiple units that haven't hit the market yet--either through Zephyr's inside network or Laura's own network. This is a huge plus, given how crazy the real estate market is right now! I'd highly recommend Laura to anyone!
We connected, but it did not work out. Looking in South of Market, San Francisco, CA 94107
I contacted Laura via Zillow and it only took him a short time to reply the first email. However, as soon as I show my interest to work with her, the second email took four days to get a reply.
Laura requires her customers to go through face-to-face meetings before showing any place that was the first turndown. And then it turns out that she only provides service via exclusive relationship. This basically means that once you work with her, it's up to her to decide your price, progress, and plan.
I recommend against such binding terms required for working with a buyer agent as it ultimately puts the buyer's interest at risk. Additionally, it is a waste of time for a customer to go through multiple face-to-face meetings before being able to see anything real.
Response from Laura on 04/25/2012
It is very common practice for experienced and successful Realtors to work on an exclusive basis with their clients. We work very hard and only get paid on commission at close of sale. It does not make sense for Realtors who work hard and provide excellent service to later have their client use a different agent to close the sale, and therefore not get paid for any of their efforts. I believe this buyer's expectations are unrealistic. He may find an agent who is willing to work on his terms but it is not fair to criticize other agents, like myself, who make it a policy to be compensated for their time and effort when providing excellent service. I very nicely and tactfully explained this policy to this individual when he told me that he was already working with several different realtors. I only have so much time and energy in a day and want to focus it on those clients who are committed to working with me, as long as I am doing a great job for them. (see other reviews :)
Sold a Condo home in 2006 for approximately $975K in Noe Valley, San Francisco, CA.
Working with Laura was great. The thing I liked most about Laura was her determination and perserverance. I was a first time homebuyer and I had a very difficult time deciding which neighborhood I wanted to live. Laura was very patient with me. She really took an interest in what was important to me. Laura spent a lot of time touring me through the various neighborhoods to help me narrow my search.
I also very much appreciated all of Laura's knowledge of the process. I had never purchased a home before and Laura was there every step of the way. She gave great advice and helped me think of things I did not know I was supposed to think. Laura was great at summarizing the mountans documents involved in the closing process.
I truly enjoyed Laura's honesty and integrity. I never felt that she was just out to earn a commission. Instead, Laura always had my best interest in mind. There were many times when Laura told me that something was not worth the price or that the house needed too much work or was not in the right neighborhood, and so on. It was great not feeling pressured into a huge purchase.
Just over a year after I bought my house I relocated out of the country for work. I of course called Laura to sell my house. Laura was just a strong on the seller side as she was on the buyer side.
Sold a Condo home in 2012 for approximately $500K in South Beach, San Francisco, CA.
I highly recommend Laura Kaufman as your real estate agent. I originally 'discovered' Laura on Yelp and based on all the glowing recommendations, I called her up to discuss my plans of selling the condo. All the recommendations turned out to be very true.
Laura is very organized and punctual making it very easy to plan your life around all the important milestones of real estate sale. She's technologically savvy - through docusign I could sign the relevant documents virtually without having to go to the office. Laura is very knowledgeable about the market. Her great marketing efforts resulted in many showings of the condo outside of the normal Sunday open house, sometimes multiple times during the day... which eventually translated to offers and closing the deal after only 19 days.
Laura lays out all the facts so you as a seller can make the most informed decision. She doesn't push you to do anything, she's objective and at the same time down to earth and personable. Having small children herself, she could relate very well to our situation where we've outgrown the 1 bedroom space and were looking for something bigger. She was also very conscious of nap time of our toddler and was very flexible in planning around it. I loved how regularly Laura updated me on any developments in the process, whether it was via email or phone. I never felt I was out of the loop. Laura is an awesome real estate professional - she made the whole process so easy and I would highly recommend her!
Bought a Condo home in 2010 for approximately $300K in Van Ness - Civic Center, San Francisco, CA.
After bad experiences with two other realtors, I called Laura after a referral from a friend. She was immediately helpful and willing to work with me and my limited budget. During the entire process, Laura explained everything clearly, gave excellent advice, and asked questions about properties that I would have never thought to. She was present and helpful every step of the way and very easy to communicate with. Laura helped me purchase my first home and I am so excited and grateful! I definitely recommend her.
