Bought a Single Family home in 2013 in Matthews, NC.
Laura and I have worked together professionally for 12 years, I as an Appraiser and her as a Realtor. Her knowledge of the Mecklenburg and Union County markets has helped me with my valuations as the market were changing in the previous 6 years. Laura was also assisting me to list my own home with her, when an opportunity presented itself for me to sell my house by owner. Laura selflessly helped guide me through the sales contract and negotiations to make sure I received fair market value for my home. I have referred Laura in the past, and everyone always called to thank me for putting me in touch with her.

I would highly recommend Laura Kempf to anyone looking for a home in the Charlotte area! Laura is a true "top notch" agent in her field!! I have been working with Laura for over 10 yrs. and she has never ceased to amaze me with her knowledge of the "Real Estate" Market!! She has gone above and beyond our expectations in literally every area of her business. She was a trooper and true professional as we had her take us on many "home tours" from one end of Charlotte to the other! She was patient & kind and did end up finding us the ideal home based on the schools, affordability and location that we expressed to her. I know she takes her job very seriously and is willing to work long hours, weekends, and evenings if that is what it takes to get her job done. She is diligent, persistent and an overall great person! I can honestly say I think the world of her and am so thankful that she was the one that helped us through this entire process.

I would not recommend Laura Kempf or Re/Max Metro Realty. Their idea of finding you a home is to set you up on an automated system that emails you every morning. We were initially given an agent who was brand new with the agency and did not know the area at all. We were relocating and also did not know the area, so they assigned us to Laura who is touted as a relocation specialist. I checked her reviews online at sites including Zillow.com and was happy she had such a good rating.
Her local knowledge wasn't that great. When asked about several neighborhoods I got answers such as, "I don't really know that neighborhood". Her response time was slow compared to the agent who we used to sell our house.
First, I would like to point out that while working with Laura I received several voice mails and emails from her that were intended for another client whose name was somewhat similar to mine (in that they both start with the same letter). Not only did that make the whole process very confusing for me, it turns up I found out that Laura was offering items of value for 5 star reviews on Zillow.com. After this other client closed on her house, I received the following email (name omitted) obviously sent to me by mistake:
How is the house coming? I would love to see it when you are finished.
H have a favor to ask of you.. My business is largely built on referrals from current and past customers. I would be very grateful if you'd take a few minutes to post a reference for me.
Since I am a firm believer in taking good care of my clients, I will send a Starbucks gift card for doing this so let me know when you have done it.
There are three steps: rating me out five; writing a paragraph about me; then entering your name, email and making up a password. Zillow will not publish your name on their website or you will not get marketing emails from them.
I know you are busy! If you feel that you cannot rate me a 5, please do not fill out the form and email me so that I can work on those areas.
So, obviously she is saying that a five star review (and only that) will net the recipient a gift card. You may draw your own conclusions about the rest of the reviews she has on Zillow.com.
She helped us first with an offer on a VA foreclosure. She failed to turn in all the paperwork and the VA was willing to wait on our offer. Then the paperwork she turned in the second time had numbers on it that were not even subtracted properly.
She helped us put in an offer on another home and recommended we offer about $10,000 more than nicer comps in the neighborhood essentially suggesting we offer more on a house just because the owner wanted that amount, not based on actual market value. She also stated that even appraisers were giving a few thousand more than the real value.
On two houses (one we walked away from and the one we bought) she failed to handle repair negotiations. I was continually told that repairs had been agreed to, but never received anything in writing. When due diligence came up on both houses, the story was the same -- seller will give you a credit toward the house but won't do repairs even after being told time and again that repairs would be made. It was suggested that we take a check on the side for repairs.
If you plan on buying a house with Laura be sure you don't want any repairs made, because regardless of what the seller will do or say, I doubt Laura is interested in helping you negotiate to get them done. She even stated to me, "in my world, things don't get done until the last day".
Also, their office is so disorganized, I often didn't know who I was dealing with. They didn't communicate with each other -- for example, I got 4 different emails from 4 different people with 4 different times and dates for our scheduled closing.
To summarize: if you don't mind looking for your own house, getting no answers to your questions, being more confused than necessary, having your personal information compromised, and not having anything done on your behalf until forced up against a deadline (and even then being left with no options), then Laura's your girl.

She priced the house right. The house sold immediately. It sold close to the listing price. The closing took place within two months. What else can you say? All appointments were on time as scheduled, very professional. Ms. Kempf arranged for the photos and they were brilliant and posted promptly and showed the house very well. She is a professional real estate woman who knows how to price a house, knows her market well, and accommodates both the seller and the buyers wishes at all times. I would definitely recommend her to our friends.

Laura's knowledge of the market is extensive as well as how to keep the buyer informed of listings as they come on the market daily. She is very responsive, conscientious and timely all of which made her a joy to work with during our 2 year house search. Her ability to deal with the seller was helpful as well. I would recommend her to anyone.

Amazing, professional, and very supportive. The best I have ever worked with and I have bought and sold 7 homes. She helped me find and buy a home for my sister who leaves in North Carolina, sold me a house for my parents to move into the area to be near my sister and then when my parents were placed in assisted living she put the house on the market and personal helped me arrange for the cleaning out of the house in order to begin to show it to buyers. She drove out to the faucility where my parents live so they could sign and understand in person what they were signing. She spent time with them to make sure they understood the closing documents completely. A great experience was had by all involved.

All situations are unique. While my wife was deployed with the military, I had one afternoon to find a home. Laura did not even flinch when I asked if we could possibly see 15 - 20 homes in one day. After our marathon tour of homes, we had an offer on the table in 48 hours.
Laura is not only the best advocate you could ask for in the Charlotte region, she is: knowledgeable, diligent, and has your interest at heart. She leaves nothing unchecked, followed up on things we had forgotten, and made sure the sellers upheld their end of the bargain.
Our closing was also complicated in that we required a mail away, but this went smoothly and now are enjoying our home.
There is no question whom we will be calling when we go to sell our home.

Laura was very knowledgable of the housing market where we were selling our home and also areas where we wished to purchase. She showed us a variety of single family homes and condos. We found a condo with a basement that was extremely overpriced and she was able to convince the sellers that the list price would not result in a sale. Although we were willing to pay cash for the condo, the buyers decided to withdraw from the market when they were presented with an appraisal we had done on their condo.
