The Cone Team was founded by Linda Cone in 1992. Taking her experience as a teacher, turned interior kitchen specialist, she started her own business. Selling homes is a lot like teaching. To be successful, the skills used to educate are the skills used to sell homes. Whether listing or selling, the skill sets are the same.

The team also consists of agent, Ana Royal, a native of Germany who is more than a team mate, but a true partner. This duo is going on 11 years together. When one is gone, the other takes over. Ana's husband Ray, is an avid sailor and history buff who pitches in and helps the Team as needed.

We believe in giving back to the communities we serve. The team has been on various boards of directors that includes the Kansas City Regional Board of Realtors (KCRAR), Heartland Habitat for Humanity and Sharing a Vision for Generations. In addition, Linda was named 2009 KCRAR Salesperson of the Year for her involvment in the metropolitan area real estate community.

Linda also was lucky to have a partner, husband, who was involved with the corporate world and moved her all over, including an International move. By the way, the International move never culminated, but was an experience not to be forgotten.

Out of a visit to seek her ancestors in Denmark, a new venture was started which was founded by her husband, taken over by her son and has evolved into a fabulous company, called Floorplanonline. Linda and her team use this as a premier marketing tool in their business.

Besides work, Linda and her husband enjoy traveling, and sports at their beloved Iowa State University( where they met) and recreating at home on Weatherby Lake with family and friends.. The family comes each 4th of July to celebrate our country's Independence and celebrate Christmas in July. They all love the experience of a midwestern summer vacation. In fact, the Team also has a client event at this time which the clients love, especially those from other countries who have not experienced such  before.

      Bought a Single Family home in 2012 in Kansas City, MO.
      Linda is easy to work with and a very hard worker. She really knows the area and the real estate business. Her technical skills in the industry are excellent and she is just very friendly and easy to work with as you look for just the right home to buy and then go through the details of actually buying the home. Linda has also been very helpful in being available and willing to give basic suggestions relative to home ownership questions.       Sold a Single Family home in 2014 in Parkville, MO.
      Linda helped my (fiancée at the time) husband Jim buy his home in Kansas City in 1998, and then helped him sell his home in Kansas City in December 1999, right before we relocated to Medina, OH and were married in March 2000.

      My experience with Linda was 5 years later, in August 2004, when my husband accepted a new position for relocation within the dairy cooperative he was employed by. We would be moving from Medina, OH back to Kansas City, MO, and only had 2 mos. to sift through the available homes in our price range, purchase a new home and get moved. My husband being an executive, began his new position at the cooperative, leaving me behind to take care of the details of flying in to KCI and finding a new home. The plan was to find a few great homes to look at that were good possibilities for Jim to look at in his short time frame. Linda was so kind to pick me up, personally, from the airport and drop me at my hotel. Next morning, she picked me up and had a full list of showings to begin our quest of shopping the home market. We started out looking in the price range my husband had said he wanted to stay within, even though I'd informed him that we would not be able to stay at that upper price point for what we were looking for. Linda and I spent my entire 3-day trip and another 3-day trip, as well, finding our " golden nugget" of homes that was just perfect for us. Linda showed me approx. 50 homes in 5-6 days and we culled out the 10-12 houses through the process that we took Jim back to. She introduced each listing to us, always giving us full details and any disclosures the sellers listed, along with the price history for that listing so we could strategize any price points we might be interested in offering to the sellers if the home was of interest. She would suggest a solution to any downfall that any property might have to help us see around the problem and to simply see it as a project if we were in that mindset. She was always full of suggestions to help with any project we might discuss to make a home the right one for us. Or, she would quickly see if, early on, we were not interested in a home. She communicated that we did not need to feel obligated to look at a home if it was just not the one for us, and we recognized this immediately or at any time during the showing. She was so professional in how she represented herself, the property she was showing, and her agency. This is why after 10 years in our house, we chose Linda to represent us this time around as we go into retirement. Jim retired on Sept. 1, 2013. We made the decision to live lakefront, so our search brought us closer to family and we are now living at Grand Lake, OK for a healthier style of living, while Linda shows our home in Parkville a suburb of Kansas City, MO. This will be our 5th time to select Linda as our realtor. She treats her clients like royalty, and she has the industry knowledge to give us the"best bang for the buck!" She is familiar with the local stats on buying & selling houses, as well as what the current market trends are for everything from the surfaces in your home to what's selling out there and what is not. For instance, since our KC home is in a neighborhood where new homes are still being built, we are competing with those new homes in the current housing market. So Linda told us that if we would consider putting Granite surfaces in certain areas (Kitchen/Master Bdrm), have new paint inside and out and replace carpeting our house would show better. She convinced us that new construction home buyers would take notice of all the detailed soft & hard landscaping we had done in the front/back yards along, with a hot tub, a pool table in the basement game room that they would not have in a new home, as well as take notice of the blinds & curtains throughout the home. So we trusted her to lead us in the right direction, as she has many times in the past. We will be excited when the offers start pouring in, and Linda's there to help us with her excellent negotiation skills. We've always gotten what we've needed in negotiating for a final buyers price. We have also agreed to come down 3% on our asking price since our home has been on the market for 10 weeks (There has been little, to no, foot traffic due to extreme winter weather.) Linda is helping determine strategies by holding realtor open houses and asking for feedback while they are there at the function. The realtors feedback was that a 3% decrease in asking price was a good amount to come down to at this point & maybe we should consider taking down the curtains because buyers are saying that they make it look dated. So Linda, never-wavering, went to the house and took down the curtains. Until our home sells, once again, we will attend some of her client social functions that we have continued to attend through the years, and Linda will be there for us for the last time because we say that we are "never" moving again, but NEVER SAY NEVER!!!  MoreLess
