Mark is a professional agent who has gone above and beyond in property transactions while selling during a difficult market. He helped with the selling of my town home and also with the purchase of a new home. He really cares about his clients and does all he can to make sure they are happy. Mark was always available when we needed him and he was very knowledgable.

Mark Slade is truly the best. He has a passion and enthusiasm for the Maplewood area which is unsurmountable - if I could give him 7 stars for local knowledge I would! He also combines this with a unique ability to find houses which meet both our detailed needs (airy, renovated and with a room big enough for a photo studio - not easy to find in Northern NJ!) and still fall within our modest price range. With an extensive creative background in the fashion industry he can envision a perfect use for that den or a perfect way to stage that small 3rd bedroom. In addition, Mark is always working for you. Sticking points which could have led to annoying negotiations topple like dominoes when you're dealing with Mark. He is constantly making things happen with an enthusiastic, positive attitude and will stand up for you both as a buyer and seller's agent. We've bought two houses with Mark Slade as our realtor and couldn't be happier.

I worked with Mark on a very complicated short sale process. He was extremely well versed in all of the technical issues involved, never gave up despite very challenging circumstances, kept me well informed throughout the process and was a compassionate and postive presence throughout. Mark has also provided guidance and shown properties with great knowledge in both the purchase and rental arenas.

We could not have asked for anyone more perfectly suited to the task of helping us find and buy our first home, under extraordinary time & other pressure. From the first conversation to the day we closed (and beyond), Mark was a patient and extremely competent partner in the process. He explained every single step of the process, over and over and over, helping us to resolve problems as they arose, providing referrals and advice when we asked for them, and remaining constantly available to talk things over. He's better than a first-time homebuyer's class! I'd recommend him to anyone.

Bought a home in 2012.
Mark helped us complete a short sale purchase over the course of five months. He was always available to meet with us during the weekend, as we could only see houses Saturday and Sunday while we're not at work. He always picked us up from the train station and drove around to see houses in his own car. He is very knowledgeable of the Maplewood/South Orange area and he gave us valuable advice. Even though the process of buying the house lasted longer because of the seller's bank slower response he helped us complete the purchase. In addition he obtained a substantial credit for us to help us complete some repair work and he provided us with good contacts for a lawyer, home inspector and other helpful contacts. We really got the feeling that he was fighting for our best interests.
We recommend Mark for anybody who is looking to buy a house and want a very knowledgeable agent on their side.

Bought a home in 2012.
Despite all the efforts of the buyers, other agent & attorney's- Mark is the sole reason our deal was held together and we are now in our new home. He was the most effective in navigating not only the price discussion, but all the ins and outs related to inspection results and closing dates. He was 100% there for us- and always made us feel like we were his #1 priority (even though I'm sure he had plenty else going on!!).

Mark Slade was competent, personable and highly professional. He helped steer us through a normally intricate and unsettling process often ironing out the rough spots. Our house sold quickly and we attribute this in large part to his expertise and guidance. My fiance and I just bought our first house with Mark's help. We had heard horror stories about how long and complicated buying a house could be....this wasn't the case. Mark went above and beyond the call of duty, he called us daily if neccessary to help move things along, we were all moved into our house in a little over a month. We love our new home and could not have done it without Mark!
