Mark Oliver comes across as friendly and personable, ready to help and meet your needs. However, he is anything but helpful or a good landlord. I made the mistake of renting a house from him in the university district. The rental was given to me in terrible conditions. He sent cleaners that did anything but clean prior to our move-in date. When we needed repairs it would take him an extremely long time to respond and send over someone to fix our issue. At the end of my group's lease his property manager, Marcus Dewan and Mark had the audacity to tell us that we had left his home in worse condition than we had received it - a completely false accusation and simply his excuse to not return our security deposit. While we were tenants, my group and I shampooed the carpets on several occasions, repainted various rooms and kept our space extremely well kept - something that I know previous tenants had never done. Mark abuses his power as a landlord and takes advantage of his tenants who are less knowledgeable in the industry. Do NOT rent from Mark Oliver - he is the least professional landlord I have ever dealt with despite his claim of being a graduate of University of Washington School of Business.
