Mary-kay started in real estate after graduating from Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. Her first job was working for an appraisal firm in Hamden, Connecticut. After getting married to Chris Canfield and moving to Florida in 1982, Mary-kay worked for the Land Development Division of U.S. Homes. When her husband was transferred to upstate New York, she worked with the Relocation Department of Stovroff & Herman in Buffalo, NY, where she valued real estate for the relocation companies of that time (including Merrill Lynch Relocation, General Motors Relocation, and Homequity).More Less
Through the years she and Chris continued to relocate to places such as Kentucky, Texas, Colorado, Indiana, Connecticut, and Florida—all the while gaining a lot of home buying and selling experience.
Chris left the corporate life and got into real estate where he quickly discovered that he needed assistance as the business expanded rapidly. Mary-kay got her real estate license in 2003 and worked behind the scenes developing and maintaining the web presence, handling paperwork, monitoring e-mail, managing listings, and brainstorming with Chris when solutions were needed.
Marykay has moved into the forefront in order to help our happy clients of the past 12 years and all those new clients who would like the same kind of expert assistance for which the Canfield Team has become known. Most of the 300 plus clients with whom we have worked knew that Mary kay was in the background working just as hard for them as Chris, but now she has come out of the shadows.
