From newspaper journalist to radio talk show host, Michael's career path over the past 30 years has been varied to say the least.  Yet one thread throughout his professional history has remained unwavering: his ability to communicate clearly, honestly and consistently with his audience and clients.  Born in Caracas and raised in Florida, Michael's last relocation was from Atlanta to Boston in 1987 when he became a marketing executive with Talbot's Catalog Development Group.

Since then he has worked in the field of Creative Services Management for various firms including his last corporate placement as Vice President of Creative Services for MFS Investment Management in Back Bay.  His passion for writing and marketing, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, ultimately led him back to writing (as a freelancer for various publications) and into the world of broadcasting as host of two radio and cable access programs: "Open House" and "The Living Room."

In 2003 he was persuaded to try his hand at real estate sales in order to combine his marketing savvy and personable nature in an entirely new field.  He worked for seven years at Metro Realty Corp. in Brookline as both a Realtor and the agency's Sales and Marketing Manager. In 2010, Michael began working at Hammond Residential Brokerage in Boston and two years later joined the Jamaica Plain office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as Senior Sales Associate & Relocation Specialist.

      Bought a home in 2013.
      We worked with Michael to buy our first home and it was a great experience! He is very responsive and walked us through the confusing process in a way that was understandable and helpful. Micheal helped us consider all aspects of the home we bought and realize many things we had not though of, having never owned a home before. He is always very responsive and ready and happy to answer and questions (even the same ones over and over!). We are grateful to have worked with Michael and highly recommend him!  MoreLess

      Bought a Townhouse home in 2014 in Jamaica Plain, Boston, MA.
      This is my second time working with Michael. The first was last year when he helped me sell my condo in Brookline. I've dealt with many (sometimes terrible) real estate agents over the years, and Michael is far and above my favorite. Overall, on both the buyer's and and seller's side, Michael provides an exceptional level of customer service. He is responsive, proactive, professional, and also has a great bedside manner.

      I'd like to point out the two biggest areas where I believe working with Michael really paid off:

      Experience: This is a tough market for buyers right now. One of the biggest challenges is what to bid (both initially and in any follow-up bids). With most desirable properties selling above asking, you need to make a competitive offer while striving not to leave money on the table. While this is always hard, you absolutely need someone with the experience of many, many transactions (and the wisdom to learn from them). Michael has this experience. In constructing my initial offer I was extremely thankful to have his guidance. One of the strengths of this offer was that the seller needed a closing date a little further in the future than most sellers. Michael took my original proposed date and suggested extending it even two weeks further (based on info he learned about the seller's situation), and I think this really helped keep us in the running for the second bid, as ours came in substantially lower than the next bid. I was then happy to have his advice on how much to up my next bid. We ended up getting the property for what seems like a fair price (given the craziness of the current market).

      Professionalism: The seller's agent in this transaction was not very professional. This really put the burden on Michael to stay on top of things and try to wrangle with some difficulty when we submitted our inspection punchlist. Everything ended up working out okay, and Michael basically translated venting from my side into an actionable, reasonable list of requests and adjustments. He could dish it with me and then turn around and show the utmost grace with other side. I really appreciated that.

      In summary, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Michael to anyone looking for an agent (on either side) in my area. Though I hope not to sell anytime in the near future, and I certainly won't be buying another property anytime soon, I also would not hesitate to work with Michael again in the future.

      Bought a Condo home in 2014 for approximately $525K in Fenway, Boston, MA.
      I was completely unfamiliar with the whole process of purchasing a condo and finding a real state agent I could blindly trust in was essential. Michael came to me recommended by my friends who had just purchased their condo and were very happy with him. And so I am now! My experience was a bit different, since I was purchasing a new construction and there was no negotiation involved. Michael gave me that little push to get the best unit possible, although it was in the very top of my price range... And I am glad he did since this condo is not only my home but also an investment. Michael is a sweetheart and has been always very responsive and patient with all my emails and concerns, calling every now and then just to catch up.
