Showed home in 2013.

I want to recommend John Stewart. What we like about John is his deep knowledge of the Seattle neighborhoods and that he takes the time to get to know his customers so he can present various options that directly map to the customers needs. He has a solid understanding of what it would take to fix up properties and has a lot of connections with various contractors, builders, etc. in the area to provide quick assessments that can greatly help make a decision when contemplating a new home. In our case a fixer upper. In closing I highly recommend doing business with John. He has helped several of our friends purchase homes and what we all like about him is his calm demeanor and low pressure attitude that immediately puts you at ease. John also takes the time to explain all the paperwork and end to end purchase process in great detail which helped us a lot as first time home buyers.  More Less

We connected, but it did not work out.

I'm in CA and Jon's in WA, but he literally called me 1 minute after I had contacted him through zillow to follow up to a post of mine. He was knowledgable and, above all, willing to help. He helped answer some questions about a rare situation I was in where I was looking to contract for the purchase of a unfinished home at such time that it becomes completed. Essentially, I was looking for ways to protect myself as the buyer between the time a purchase agreement was struck and completion. He was helpful and gave me some tips on what to do.

Bought a Single Family home in 2011 for approximately $900K in Redmond, WA.

John was our buyers agent when we were shopping for our first home. He was excellent, 5 out of 5 stars (I'd give him ten if they would let me!). Throughout the whole process John with instrumental, professional, available, accommodating, knowledgable and enjoyable to be around. His construction background was extremely helpful in evaluating the condition of the homes we saw and in understanding what the time and cost of fixing or upgrading things might be. Not only was John extremely professional (we always felt he had our best interests at heart), but he always went the extra mile. He made himself available at all times and answered all my numerous emails and calls quickly and thoroughly. He set-up appointments for us to meet the neighbors, ask questions to the title officer, all inspections, etc, etc and came along to all these meetings to help out in any way. This was extremely helpful for us as this was our first time through this whole process. He was also extremely patient. We were very picky shoppers that definitely weren't willing to pay "sticker price" for our home; we wanted to get a great deal, especially given the economic climate. In addition to regular bids, we also bid on short sale homes, foreclosures and bank owned properties and he was instrumental in helping guide us through this difficult and time consuming process. His extensive knowledge in real estate contracts and negotiation strategy allowed us to make competitive and attractive offers even if our bid price was much lower than asking. In the end, we got our dream home and we couldn't be happier. We couldn't have done it without John!  More Less
