Meany. The WHOLE house has oak moldings/doors/woodwork. I can't paint any of it. Once i do one room I'll have to do it all.... no thanks! I'm working WITH it. I think it makes the house more unique anyway ;oP
I hate to say it, but yes, people want storage. Having said that though, we sold our house last Feb. and we had virtually no storage lol. Our master closet was teeny, as were they all in every room. But, our buyers loved the charm and character of an older house. They loved the neighborhood, location and bought it. If everything else is what they want, that can be changed. You can add storage, but you can't add a bigger yard, better neighborhood, etc.
Oooo yes I wanna picture! And sunnyview, that was very nice of you to say :o) I'm far from a remodeler, I just have lots of ideas and try to implement them (or have someone else implement for me lol)In the "general" Home Improvement area (I think!) I posted before/after of a hallway between my kitchen and 1/2 bath. The laundry and slop sink are in this space too. Take a look.
I know you were all sketchy on it, but here's the before and afters:The black is blackboard paint for chalk, and the cork is obviously for notes/messages. I may put some white molding on the top and bottom to frame out the cork. I'm happy w/ the lighting, I think it works!
Yellowpages to the rescue! I called a guy this am and he was here after lunch- nice. Replaced both cables and springs, checked the lubing (it was good) and replaced the weatherstipping on the bottom. $167.50 and one happy lady! He checked out the other door too, but was satisfied w/ it's operation. No weatherstripping for that one though, he didn't have a long enough piece. I'll get some though now that I helped him do it. I held it and he asked me to "feed me". I thought he meant he was hungry and offered him food, but he meant to hold it while he ran it through. I am a moron. I did give him coffee though lol
I'm now afraid to even try to open the garage door manually (guess I can) for fear of it falling on me lol... my car is neatly inside leading me to do some walking w/ the kids. Any ideas on who would fix this? I have stretched and got it back on "track" before, but now thw cable is actually in 2 pieces and scares me. What to do? Handyman?
I was really hoping the site would get back to groovin', but it seems to have taken a turn and not righting itself. What a shame. I'll pop on now and again to see if it's fixed, but really guys, very sad. Pasa, if you read this, can you post how many hits they've lost since the massacre? I'd bet it's pretty substantial.
I did my track lighting lol
