Karl was born in Virginia and grew up on a dairy farm in Campbell County. His background includes working as a counsellor at numerious Summer Camps and as a project manager in the Home Improvement Field. He was a class A contractor Designated Employee for a local construction company and owned  a construction company specializing in exterior home improvements.  In 2005, Karl earned his Realtors® license and began full-time as a Real-Estate professional. 

Karl is married to Alys whom he met at a summer camp in Colorado in 2000. They moved from Campbell CO to Lynchburg City in in 2008. Their son Joshua was born in 2005, and daughter Audrey was born in 2007. Karl enjoys outdoor recreation, reading business and personal growth books, and networking with fellow business owners.
