I started working with him at Fall 2012 after receiving very high recommendations from my co-workers (basically company mailing list). He got us a home in late spring when the market was extremely hot and favorable to sellers. After looking over at least 50 houses together with him, we got the house we loved the most at just asking price! Moreover, he negotiated to get us credit enough to cover the closing cost. Considering most other people had to pay 5-15% over asking price, and take out inspection and financial contingencies from their offers in this market, it is amazing what he could do for us.

1. He is very honest and tries hard to get us a home we are happy with (no buyer’s remorse). Great personality as well.
2. He accommodated my schedule and did not mind coming at my work place for documents signings (we had to do this multiple times due to bidding war).
3. His documents are impeccable and include all the contingencies to protect the buyers. Everything was smooth in our offer/negotiation/transaction/closing.
4. He also spent a ton of time on educating me as a first home buyer. I asked all kinds of questions (even politically sensitive ones) and he answered without making any uncomfortable moments.
5. His knowledge is not limited to some materials you can find from internet. He knows lots of hidden history about communities, building materials and builders.
6. Never felt pushy. In fact, it was him who expected it would be a long process for us to find out what we really wanted.
7. I can trust him of what he says and does. I can definitely feel that he works for his clients behalf.
He is the best agent of any sorts I have ever encountered and one of the smartest men. I am currently living in this new home for more than a month and very happy with every process and this home.

A co-worker referred LaVerne to me when we were having some challenges with our existing agent. Everyone “has someone” so I was reluctant to make a change, but invited him over for an interview.
LaVerne listens, but he also provided some additional options that my wife and I were not considering. We had an established set of criteria that we thought was exactly what we wanted, but looking at our exact criteria and then giving him a chance to show us some other options, we ended up changing our minds for the better (and receiving a better value).

This is just an internet posting, and you never know if these are real or not, so I can’t really help you there. All I can say is that I am a huge advocate for LaVerne and actively give him references to anyone at work willing to listen.
For the house that we purchased, we started looking at houses in Summer of 2012 and didn’t end up buying our new house until December 2012. LaVerne is zero pressure and his number #1 priority is in establishing a positive relationship, since his business is all about positive referrals.
In the end, you don’t have anything to lose other than a little bit of time by giving him a call and having him come over and have an initial conversation. I think if you are willing to take the leap, give him a call and go out with him a few times and look at houses- you will be incredibly pleased.
And if you want someone to sell your existing house, he will sell your house incredibly quickly and for a good market value. He’ll even tell you what you can do to increase the price of your home based on what other homes in the area are competing for.
