Assessments are the local tax assessors domain.  Real Estate agents have nothing to do with setting assessments.  If you believe yours is too high or has been inflated unfairly then you should be able to greive it.  In Tompkins NY there is a process that property owners can go through in order to grieve their assessments.  Look into your County's assessment department and see what process they may have.
